Re: Video: Concert Setup, Oklahoma City, 2010-08-16

Not always does all this equipment have to be set up, some venues already have almost everything permanently set up and they just plug into it.

Re: Lightfoot Songbooks-sale

Kimberly, I put a bid in on these, but it says reserve isn't met. If you don't mind, can you tell me what is your reserve on these? Also these are not all that were made, as they also printed the 3...

Re: Terry Clements Guitar?

I kind of remember that some time back Terry told me they had paid around $2400 for the guitars, I think that was for each of them, but of course my old age may have sunk in and distorted that.

Re: ANOTHER surprise from Gordon Lightfoot !!!

Ok, place your bets, will he sing happy birthday to Charlene or not? Also will he sing her favorite song? I would place a buck on each that he will.

Re: Fort Pierce

The Ridgefield isn't a great place, but it does pretty good for what it is. Yes, a old auditorium, but it does have decent sound there. I have seen Brandi Carlile and Jonatha Brooke there and Brandi...

Re: To Technical?

I am almost sure he uses a Shure 58, most performers do, and it would fit his voice range just fine. On his strings, they can be so cruticial to a great sound. Back around 1980, I had put some new...

Re: Fort Pierce

I much prefer the smaller venues also. I saw Brandi Carlile at the Ridgefield Playhouse back in February, and it is another small place that has pretty nice sound. Not as good as Tuscon or Ft. Pierce...

Re: Fort Pierce

Whoa, what a nice setup. Multiple Crown amps with thousands of watts of power in another small venue. JBL high end speakers in quantity. 32 channels is just fine, and another place with all new...

Re: Fort Pierce

Hi quality names, current equipment, which indicates this theaters system was likely redone in the last 3 years, several thousand watts of clean power (which is plenty in a small venue like this)...

Re: Fort Pierce

I noticed years ago that some places just didn't have great sound and others did. In the Ct area, Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, where Gord often played back in the 70's and 80's, had this nice...

Re: Anne Murray calls memoir 'painful'

As some of you, or all of you know, Gordons drummer Barry Keane is her studio drummer on most all her LPs and Cds. I was wondering if there is mention of him in the book?

Re: Morristown, NJ 7/28/09

I noticed the part about 'no one goes after Gords guys' to play with them, but Barry has played drums on over 300 albums (as I last remember him saying) and as an example, he usually plays on all the...

I talked to the people there, and he has no show date booked for sure yet. May be a date pending though. I will put it here when I find one for sure.

I just listened to their lineup until Dec. 09 and he wasn't mentioned. But then he could have just scheduled a concert and they haven't updated the listing yet. It would be about time they had him...

Re: Video: Gordon Bonked in Head by Adoring Fan

Many sports celebs have contracts which will not allow them to sign memorabelia autographs unless at a signing show/event. Likely Elway has one of these contracts.

Re: Terry Clements Guitar?

Ok, this should answer most your questions and it is the correct spelling of the late Ed McGlincys name. From an article in 2000.

Gordon Lightfoot plays a pair of 12-string Gibson B-45-12s...

Re: GL's guitar's

Well that is pretty good. I understand about the thumb problem, but you seem to be doing fine. The Goya sounds decent and you don't seem to have any problem with the neck, so I would pick away at it...

Re: GL's guitar's

If the Goya is playable and passable then it must be good. I had a Suzuki nylon a couple years ago that had such a wide neck that I could barely play it, I don't have big hands either. Needless to...

Re: GL's guitar's

It takes some time to build up callouses on you fingers and with steel strings you need them or the pain will come. I don't have callouses anymore either, so another reason for the slack of playing...

Re: GL's guitar's

When I bought my Goya, I had gone to NYC, on 49th street there were lots of music stores and I bought it there. from Terminal Music. It wasn't cheap back in those 1960 days, I think it cost me almost...

Re: GL's guitar's

I used to have an old 1960 Goya back in the Folk era 60's. It was a F19 model which one of the guys in Peter Paul and Mary played. It was made so you could use either steel strings or nylons. Had...
