Gord would excel at this if he would ever embrace the aesthetic.

I love all of Ron's little videos he does like this..original or covers.. Yesterday when I got an alert he posted this I suggested he do a video of DRIFTERS next. He covered it on BEAUTIFUL (Lightfoot Trib cd) and I love it..

This is the first "Anything for Love" cover version I've heard, apart from the one by a singer-pianist at a wedding reception I attended in 1987 in Geelong, Australia. For the many Lightfoot fans who found the original song overproduced, this suggests how it may have sounded if recorded a few years earlier or later.

Ron's is the new standard, imo …. if he ever has a writing dry spell, maybe he can include it and Too Late for Praying on an album … i think he would do an hell of a job with Only Love Would Know … or Clouds of Loneliness…. or ….
