Re: CBC - Canadian Musical Alphabet

^ He should be on the song map of Canada. So many of his songs have definite geographical references to Canada. Even a song like "Love & Maple Syrup" would qualify in my mind (even though no specific Canadaina town/city, etc. is mentioned).

yeah, there should be two maps just for Gord alone

- all his song reference places

- all the venues he's played

here is the former, thanks to the official website www.lightfoot.ca

Lightfoot Geography
I don't know if there are many geography buffs out there, but I've always been one myself. I read that back in the 70's Lightfoot kept a huge map on his wall and kept pins in it to mark everywhere he's played. I wonder if he still keeps that map up to date? So I'm guessing that Lightfoot is into geography himself. Here is a list of place names that have appeared to date in his songs:

Daisy Doo - Texas
Crossroads - Quebec

can't argue with that pick…. i'm not a big Neil guy but i guess songwriter and/or singer and/or band could be separate or overlapping lists

i might have taken Nikki :)
