Pointer Sisters-Where Did The Time Go?

I don't know if the song explains it well but I read on the groups official website this was written about their Father who had died in 1979.

He was a minister and both he and his wife wouldn't allow them to listen to any secular music.
Only time they ever did was visiting friends.

Re: Pointer Sisters-Where Did The Time Go?

Anyone else recall that June's been gone since April 11th of 2006?

June suffered a stroke on February 27, 2006. While recovering, she was diagnosed with cancer, which had metastasized in her breast, colon, liver and bones. She died at UCLA Medical Center. (Wikipedia)

I love the group and always have. Their 40s style stuff from ABC records was pretty
cool, especially "Yes We Can Can" & "Betcha got A Chick On The Side" but it was the modern songs that caught my ears.Like "Fire" & "He's So Shy".

My favorite though is "Neutron Dance".

Recorded in 1983 for the "Breakout" album but saved for single release from the "Bevely Hills Cop" sdtk. in late 1984/early 1985. Reaching #6. I still feel to this day,had it been the leaqd off single in 1983,it would have been a #1 hit.

Instead, the singles weee "Automatic","Jump For My Love","I'm So Excited" (Remix) and finally "Neutron Dance". ( "Baby come And Get It" failed at #44. ) . "Dance Electric" would have been a beter choice.

After that, however, they only enjoyed 2 more hits "Dare Me" #11 late 1985
and finally "Goldmine" #33 in 1986. They never returned to the top 40 after that.
