Back in the saddle...sort of
Played at an open mic last night...a really great acoustic listening room in central Virginia. With the kids, work, and all life's obligations I'd pretty much abandoned what brought me to the dance in the first place - playing original tunes like I did relentlessly in the 80s.
Lo and behold, I could still do it! Got a standing ovation. Felt nice, and with a lot less pressure than when I was younger. Trying to figure out kid sitters and all is a hassle, but I feel certain I could get a paying gig, or more importantly a little support for iTunes releases. Here is a demo link: http://youtu.be/87u8mYu2JI0. Plan to use my video skills to do a pro version over winter break. So if you play...get out there and do it. Don't let twenty years pass you by like I did. |

I'm so happy for you. Sounds like you have a plan-best of luck! Take the kiddies with you! How old are they??
