Sydney Steve: Please say more about your trip

Steve,

Good to hear you enjoyed your trip to Lightfoot in Canada and got back to Australia safely. I (and I'm sure many others) would like to hear more about what you thought of Toronto, Massey Hall, the home-town fans and meeting Gord.
I'm attaching my corresponding thread from 2008 (but don't feel pressured to report anywhere near this much).

Dave (from that other 4-million city 550 miles south-west of you).

I can tell you that at his first concert @ Massey which was the 2nd nite of the series he sat beside me in the front row, stretched out his legs, feet crossed at the ankles, arms crossed in front of him and he never moved...he was overwhelmed with jet lag, and that yes indeed, here he was in Toronto at The Church of Gord with some of Lightfoot's most ardent fans and his journey was just beginning. I was SO happy for him!

And we can go from country to country and around the world and still hear English (in it's many forms).

Hope you had a great trip Steve!!

Bill :)

Yes indeedy Bill.
It just makes me so very proud to have been born where it all began even if the rest of you have funny accents!!
And as for young Stephen in person he was a lot less intimidating than he
usually appears in print, and he was so polite that he almost apologised for his customary rudenes to me . well he expressed the hope that I understood that it was not personal but just the usual rivalry between Brits and Aussies (or words to that effect)
I was so taken aback I could not try to remember exactly how he phrased it
Anyway I was pleased to know he made it to Niagra, even if he was too late in the season to go on the Maid Of The Mist (which is arguably the world's best tourist bargain closely rivalling the Sydney HarboUr ferries!)
'Twas a shame that because of that Saturday outing he had to miss the group dinner at Mr GreenJeans

It's coming Dave. Just gotta get myself together a bit. Was major league lagged /disorganised etc -still getting the house back in order.

This is NOT best day of my life. First day back @ work from 6 weeks leave (incl. "The Lightfoot Leg" ) plus it is has been around 30 deg.C (with humidity aplenty) for a few days now - hard to get used to the heat so quickly after the Northern hemisphere late autumn/fall even though we were only exposed to a warm one .....
