Lightfoot XM (satellite) radio?

i see there is free satellite radio on Sirius this month

all new to me but I see there is a Willie's Roadhouse station

should there be a Gordie's Boathouse one?

is there a Dylan one? ie. Bob's Roadkill? ;)

I'm sure there must be an Elvis one too...

and I also see a Siriusly Sinatra station.... what would have a nice ring to it?

"__________ Lightfoot"

How about members come up with a suitable, catchy GL station name...

I seriously doubt it. I've been a SiriusXm subscriber for about 10 years and know the channels pretty well. They have permanent Springsteen and Elvis channels, also Sinatra. They had a Neil Diamond channel, but moved it to the online feed. I believe they also have a Greatfull Dead channel. What do all these channels have in common? They are American artists. I'd be greatful for a real folk artist channel, but The Loft and Coffeehouse are about as close as you get.

hey thx for feedback, rob

i guy there is no channel playing 100% one single artist no matter how big the catalogue...i assumed the Willie Roadhouse was a Nelson tribute but maybe not...when i listened for a sec it was a gritty country genre tune

i think if there is enough folk roots Canadian artist stuff that an entire channel would fly and thought it should have a prominence of Lightfoot and be named accordingly

so IF (even if its just in our own Dreamland!), what would it be called? _____

i realize Galaxie radio (on Canadian Bell and Shaw satellite, etc) has a Folk Roots channel and believe char posted a CBC online all-Gord streaming feed

didn't we calculate that there are about 25 hours of Gord recordings? and then add a huge array of Gord cover recordings...it could run for days before having to loop!

i have willie's roadhouse on my top 6. it is mostly the old country stuff... some really, really old! I have actually never even heard willie played on that channel! of course, i mostly listen to Gordon in my car. I only switch to sirius fron time to time because my husband ordered it for me and I feel the "guilt" if I don't listen to it from time to time. It would be exceptionally grande if they added a gordon lightfoot channel. wonder to whom we would direct that request!

Re: Lightfoot XM (satellite) radio?

I had sirius for a 60 day free trial period when I got my new car. I did enjoy listening to it, but not enough to renew (pay for it). I liked The Bridge which is a 70s easy listening channel. I heard Gord on there many times.

What would an all-Gord channel be called? Hmm...right off the bat I would say "Legendary Lightfoot" but let me think about it for a while. I might come up with something better.

that is a good one...i was thinking "Old Gord's Records"?

i had that trial also but haven't listened since it expired and just noticed the recent free tease just ended today, just as i was becoming educated, lol

i had too many music options in the 'new used' car a few years ago...AM/FM, mutli-CD changer, usb input, mini jack input for iPhone library or homemade recordings (that's what i mostly use) but my country drives are often my only change for silence and solitude so often i just turn it all off and open the windows:)

hey, i see there's even a Pearl Jam station...they should force that on prisoners:clap:

great feedback, kids...thank you

char, you + jenny must have a few hundred Gord shows between ya...behave!:)
