CHEAP THRILLS magazine - JUNE 1980

Re: CHEAP THRILLS magazine - JUNE 1980
Interesting article. I think it's from 1976 though; I believe that was the year Montreal hosted the summer Olympics- plus they mention a TV special with Bing Crosby and Freddie Prinze, both of whom passed away in 1977. Between writing, recording, touring (including a jaunt to Germany in June), guesting on Saturday Night live, Midnight Special, and Hee Haw (I'd love to see that), as well as planning and organizing that Benefit; 1976 must have been a very busy year for Gordon!

Where do you find them? I love reading these old articles, it's like stepping back in time. 1976 Yep.. I think that was the first year Gord appeared at the Greek theatre in SoCal. It's possible he was at the Bowl, but can't remember. I was there though! meo

I've kept any and all mags/newspaper articles/playbills with LIGHTFOOT in them for decades now..lol In the last several years I have also taken to printing up articles/review/previews/interviews from publications in the cities he has performed.
A few are from events I didn't attend but have rec'd a memento from dear friends..I am currently going thru all of it and getting it in some sort of order...I will tackle the 'paper' stuff then head to the albums, cd's, dvd's, videos etc. |
