Kingston NY
After a disasterous reroute through Yonkers, I made it to Kingston in plenty of time. I can't say the theater is in a very prosperous neighborhood, it was quite the opposite. Inside was nice though, another old upstate NY renovated theater.
Gord came out right on time as usual, wearing the red velvet jacket as he had the night before. He started right in, and away we went! Did She mention My Name Carefree Highway Sea of Tranquility 14 Karat Gold Never Too Close A Painter Passing Through Let it Ride (here's one I have to sneak up on!) Spanish Moss Shadows Beautiful Watchman's Gone (one about a train to heaven) I have to say, this was outstanding tonight Ribbon of Darkness (little bit of El Paso sung here) Sundown Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald Intermission Sweet Gunivere Cotton Jenney Early Morning Rain Restless Home from the Forest Waiting for You (the usual coming home to my second ex old lady, I've been away three weeks, I'm coming home for a cuddle baby!!) Make Way for the Lady IYCRMM (standing ovation, Gords says, what am I going to follow this with?) Don Quixote Baby Step back Canadian Railroad Trilogy Encores Rainy Day People In My Fashion I have to say, it was like seeing Gord ten or more years ago. He had a sparkle in his eyes, seemingly boundless energy, a bit of a smirk and smile at different times, and his voice was just great! I wish I could go to a few more this week but can't take the time off. I'll be catching him again next weekend, I hope he doesn't lose this energy he has! |
Re: Kingston NY
A twinkle in his eye and a smile on his lips....it's like he's 10 years younger...and a spring in his step too!. That's what I saw at Rama a few weeks ago. He's a happy man.
Makes ME smile just thinking about it.. |
