In fact flickr's 404 error popup says:- Oops! Looks like you followed a bad link. but according to a current Ebay auction this photo was taken Live at a small venue in Vancouver BC Canada - 1968. (No day or month specified) in trying to find Char's original I found this rather different photo from the May 8 2008 Massey Hall concert http://johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/i...May_8_2008.jpg but in doing so I found out why Char's link probably failed It seems to be almost impossible to obtain the address (URL) of an image on Flickr so in the end I gave up and made my own simple screenshot which I then enlarged to become 640 pixels wide and uploaded it to my own website's Lightfoot images folder where its address is:- http://johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/i...May_8_2008.jpg for reference the full height andd watermarked Ebay auction photo is http://rockphotofile.com/images/46/gl680000-01.jpg which is located at http://rockphotofile.com/images/46/gl680000-01.jpg |
Re: March 2, 1968 photo of Lightfoot
I was gaily talking about resizing and have since realised that I should perhaps have mentioned that as a comitted Windows user I have taken note that the hitherto rather basic Microsoft Paint program included with Windows was very much improved when Windows 7 was released, making it now very easy to resize any digital image or crop it for other purposes such as the front of the DVD case insert I need for a 2-DVD video bootleg of the complete 2008 Massey Hall concert for which the following rectangular crop could be the starting point in its design:-
http://johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/i...08_cropped.jpg image URL:- http://johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/images/Massey_Hall_May_8_2008_cropped.jpg or a "squared off" image could be used for a CD's Jewel case insert |
Re: March 2, 1968 photo of Lightfoot
the picture itself was posted in the same post as the link to it so it's a moot point if the link to FLIKR works or not..

Yes well moot most certainly means "subject to debate, dispute, or uncertainty, and typically not admitting of a final decision." but now I have to wonder why you bothered to even post the link, unless it was to trap the unwary such as I into checking it out I am nevertheless glad that you did as I then found the other useful photo |
Re: March 2, 1968 photo of Lightfoot
the link worked in 2012 when it was posted. what the owner of the FLIKR page did since then is unknown but obviously he's deleted his pics or membership.
