I consider an oldie to be two things:

1. It sounds dated regardless of the era - and this is pretty much a constant for my personal definition.

2. This one has a bit more wiggle room. I discovered Gord in the late 60s, so anything before this time or anything too hippie-ish (see point one above) would be an oldie to me.

The catch is that there are so many wonderful, old-ER songs out there that are still fresh and relevant today. So I would call then "classics" rather than "oldies".
