Merry Chistmas

The kids (6, 4, and 2) are snuggled in bed...mom on a last minute panic express to Toys-r-us because a UPS shipment arrived with a backorder slip. Golden Retrievers settling in for the night. When mom gets home in a few the red wine will flow and we'll put together the various Santa gifts which this year include a much asked for acoustic guitar for oldest daughter. As a little one her favorite song was Harmony. Merry Christmas everyone! And to all a good night!

Right back at you Bill! We lit the luminaries in the driveway (candles in sand inside a lunchbag, don't know how widespread this custom is), we're packing for Brazil (we leave on Dec. 26), the dog is asleep and I have to pick my daughter up at 10:45, otherwise I'd be in bed since I'm working four hours in the morning so the "other guy" can watch his kids open presents and go to church (I know I'm too nice). I could go on and on, LOL. But statistics show that most lurkers have stopped reading by now!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

Bill :)

Happy Christmas everybody
Listening to seasonal musc on the radio I find that for about the fourth year in a row my favourite piece is this stirring version of a very old piece of classical music
although it was not actually published until 1919 and first recorded
in 1940 see:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pachelbel%27s_Canon
This piece of baroque music was written before 1700

T’was The Night Before Christmas (con’t)

…He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a Gord-night!"

Merry Christmas all…
Yuri

Re: Merry Chistmas

Merry Christmas to all

THE GIFT

NOW COME AND GATHER ROUND,
TAKE A SEAT OVER BY THE TREE.
BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR PRESENTS,
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT A SPECIAL GIFT
FOR YOU AND ME.
IT'S AN OLD GIFT,
FIRST GIVEN ABOUT 2000 YEARS AGO.
YET THIS GIFT IS NEW TO ALL
THAT RECEIVE IT.
THIS GIFT IS DIFFERENT IN THE FACT
THAT THE MORE YOU USE IT,
THE STRONGER IT GETS.
BECAUSE OF THE JOY THIS GIFT BRINGS
YOU KNOW YOU HAVE TO SHARE IT WITH OTHERS.
YET WHEN YOU GIVE THIS GIFT,
THIS GIFT GROWS FOR YOU
AND BECOMES EVEN BIGGER IN YOUR LIFE.
IF WE TRULY LIVE BY THIS GIFT
AND SHARE IT'S SPECIAL MEANING,
AND IF WE CONTINUE TO PRAY.
THEN PERHAPS ONE DAY,
THE WORLD WOULD FINALLY REALIZE AND SEE
THE PRICELESS GIFT THAT WAS GIVEN TO
YOU AND ME.
WHILE THE LITTLE GIRLS AND BOYS
START TO OPEN THEIR PRESENTS AND TOYS.
LET US REFLECT UPON GOD'S GIFT OF LOVE
THAT WAS SENT TO US LONG AGO ON CHRISTMAS MORN
WHEN CHRIST OUR SAVIOR WAS BORN.

Re: Merry Chistmas

I couldn't have said it better myself. May everyones Christmas have been a Blessed one. Except for a rotten case of laryngitis that kept me from singing along with my favourite holiday tunes, mine was one of the best that I've had in ages.
