I've read several excerpts of the book in different magazines but can never find it on the shelf at the library!
Dan writes of some very very difficult times in his life, with his father and his own children..

Barry's a pretty savvy kinda guy!

I saw Dan Hill twice in concert @ MHS Auditorium in the mid 70's. Solo performance, with only his Martin guitar. He had some good songs in those days.

Thanks for bringing this up Pam ! :)

thanks for making putting that up for us, pam...enjoyed and hung on most every word...more, more!;)

i remember when Bruce Guthro hosted a songwriters circle that came on at midnights on CBC one summer (something that wonderful should still be running!) ...one show had Jimmy Rankin and Dan Hill on...Hill displayed some wit that session

a hearty voice...always loved this arrangement from the Over Canada production...too bad they cut off Raylene Rankin in this sampler...ok, I've taken this off topic, lol

yikes! There was one other page which referenced Barry...and was most interesting -when Hill turned down Barry's record deal offer! The book had been loaned to me, so I can't scan that last page.

btw Does anyone know which baseball team that was?

well I did ask Barry about this and he said as a kid he grew up with Brad Park the hockey player. Brad played ball with Barry and his dad had scouts come to see him one time. They came and scouted Barry too. He pitched a one hitter game I believe he said. The scouts were from the New York Yankees.
Brad went on to play hockey and Barry became a musician.

I remeber Brad Park well when he was on the NY Rangers. He was probably the second best defensive player in the league for many years but he played in the time of Bobby Orr back then. I never knew Barry was into the business end of the music industry..interesting stuff
