Yet another new Ebay thread
I haven't been as diligent at keeping tabs on GL items on ebay recently although I did recently snag a "like new" Songbook boxset for a mere $29.00 with free shipping.
But this one that just might interest UK fans caught my eye today http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFO...5_on_Decca.jpg GORDON LIGHTFOOT - Remember Me (I’m The One)/Daisy Doo ORIG Decca 45 F 11527 (UK, 1962) Happy to present Gordon’s 1st ever UK 45 from way back, definitely his rarest and hardest to find single on these shores. The A is an Elvisesque ballad, but it’s the B, Daisy Doo that steals the show - a great driving rocker! The vinyl is in pretty good shape for 47 years old, especially on the B. There’s some light marking - mainly thin hairlines and very light scuffing, but on the A there’s also some small white spots/deposits that don’t affect the play. Overall looks VG but plays better with the B nearly sounding perfect. Labels fine with no writing, stickers or other damage. I can’t really detect any obvious spindle usage, maybe indicating this disc has been lightly played - it certainly sounds fresh enough! |
Re: Yet another new Ebay thread
Anybody who read about my $29.00 Songbook and who does not already have this should hie on over to:-
http://cgi.ebay.com/Gordon-Lightfoot...3A1%7C294%3A50 http://i.ebayimg.com/13/!BS4pD,QBmk~...HpNZyw~~_1.JPG where another is on offer at the same starting price plus a small shipping charge In today's economy I think the prices people are willing to pay have softened plus songook ebay auctions usually have a starting price in the US $50+ range |
Re: Yet another new Ebay thread
I initially thought I had come across an extremely interesting item currently on ebay is this recording (my first impression was that this was previously completely unknown to me)
http://i5.ebayimg.com/05/i/001/82/8d/81f4_12.JPG the flipside is one of the singles tracks on "Early Lightfoot" that I know pretty well already http://i10.ebayimg.com/07/i/001/82/8d/8d74_12.JPG I must have missed it because it certainly appears on Wayne's cornucopia http://www.lightfoot.ca/single60.htm (albeit as an alternative or more complete song title for Adios Adios but I gave never seen it on sale before under that title although I have of course heard Adios Adios. and the title does indeed appear in the first line of the song as evidenced by:- http://www.lightfoot.ca/adios.htm "G) I'll meet you in Mich(C)oacan the (G) heart of Mexi(G7)c" Phew!! |
Re: Yet another new Ebay thread
I also know the flip side very well... {Chateau label}, I heard Lightfoot mention this a few times in interviews.
Since this thread was started in May and I had no Internet, it is also the first I've seen the Decca record of Daisy-Doo another song I and am sure many others know. Interesting find (mon brave) as you would say ! http://forum.mininova.org/style_emot...default/ok.gif |
