Re: 4 Tops Lead Singer Levi Stubs Dies.
Wow...that's great. I love hearing that again. Thanks so much for posting that. :)
Doesn't this song just make you want to move with the music? :) |
Re: 4 Tops Lead Singer Levi Stubs Dies.
Thanks for clueing us in, Nightingale! So sorry to hear that - that was "my music" when I was growing up in the early to mid-60's, along with the Beatles. I distinctly remember one night in Illinois watching tv with a friend and they were on - thought the matching suits and the harmonies were SO COOL!
He will be missed! Best to you and the "leggers"! Sheryl |
Re: 4 Tops Lead Singer Levi Stubs Dies.
You know what's interesting about Tops version of the song I posted is I think this might of been off an album that they released in late 67 or early 68 wich were mostly remakes of other songs.
I was once looking through an old Chicago Trib. paper from early 1968 and mentions this LP which I can't remember the name of it but it aslo included their version of The Left Banke's Walk Aaway Renae. |
Re: 4 Tops Lead Singer Levi Stubs Dies.
Hi Sheryl :) Thanks but I didn't post about this and clue everyone in. :) It was Affair On Touhy Ave. that brought it to our attention.
They had such a great sound...good music from the soul and heart. Best to you, too Sheryl. Hug your babies for me :) Affair, that's interesting about the album that this song came off of. I'm glad you found this clip and brought it over. So good to hear and I play it every time I come to this thread...lol. Guess I had better go to YouTube and put it in my favorites. :) Thanks again. |
Re: 4 Tops Lead Singer Levi Stubs Dies.
I know I'm late commenting on this story. I hadn't noticed the topic but did know of his passing.
The Four Tops' "I Can't Help Myself" was the very first #1 song I ever owned. This year, just about a month shy of Levi's passing,I finally got the very last two songs of all the Tops' Top 40 hits. He was a great vocal talent,as well as the other members. So sad, there's now just one Top and 1 original Temptation left. Rest in Peace Levi. |
Re: 4 Tops Lead Singer Levi Stubs Dies.
Just like Borderstone Im kind of late here, it is real sad to hear about this. The 4 Tops had many hits that I really liked. :(
