Restless
Once again, Gord has struck just the right chord. I've loved "Restless" ever since I heard it for the first time, at least I thought I did, but never as much as now. Now I find it going through my head many times. Right now I'm in southern Mexico, headed towards Guatemala, traveling as I have a hundred times to places old and new. I've had the traveling bug since I was able to walk; my mother had to tie me to the backyard clothesline when I was two so that I couldn't wander away over to the next street, up and down the hill, and by the riverbanks where they found me more than once! Like Gord, I have a restless spirit. But I'm also at the age (54, just about when Gord wrote this song), that the pull is in two directions: the "restless yearning of those geese as off they roam" and the desire to be surrounded by family and friends, to "trade that for a warm bed in a place I can call home." Not a huge revelation, just a couple of thoughts...

Re: Restless
Roam safely :) Seems as though a semi-sedentary lifestyle suits you well!

Re: Restless
DQ, Just a thought, maybe you need a passenger plane with a bed.

Re: Restless
Yes, I have to make sure my butler gets on that right away. In the meantime, I guess I'll have to ride the buses like I've done for all my other travels. They can actually be kind of fun, getting to know the landscape and talk with the people. I'll be home in a few more days, and it'll be nice to be back with my family again. Still, as Gord pointed out, it's that tug both ways that makes life both exciting and difficult. When that restless feeling comes...
