YouTube has lots of clips of various landings like that..absolutely amazing..I remember landing in Puerto Rico many years ago..omigoodness..goats running around as we landed! And take off seemed to take forever as we watched the ocean coming up very quickly but we lifted with room to spare!

As a kid I used to go up near the airport and watch the planes. OUr bldg. was in a flight path so from the 16th floor we had a great view of the planes as well. We'd go up and do exactly what Mike Myers portrayed in Wayne's World..- park the car and lie on the hood/trunk/roof. He could have been one of the many people up there when I was!

Can't do it now - it's all built up with industrial buidlings/lots more highway lanes and with security the way it is now they don't even allow any slowing down..You can park in some of the hotel parking lots and watch but it's not like parking at the end of the runway like we used to..

Hey CHar, that must have been a lot of fun, :biggrin: lying on the hood of the car just like in Wayne's World. I would have been singing those famous lines of EMR...

This one makes me think of how low the planes fly here when they approach the airport here.
