Scalpers And How

An outfit called realtickets from
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

have this day put up for auction in Ebay a total of 16 tickets for Massey in May in 6 lots totalling very nearly US $6000 as "Buy It Now" prices (no bidding even) either in pairs or 4's for prices ranging from US $549.99 for two in Row M up to US $1495 (plus $15.00 for Fedex shipping) for 4 in Row B
This doesn't seem right to me but how can such profiteering be stopped???

I don't think it can be stopped John, IMO. As long as there are buyers there will always be sellers.

Bill :)

stop? It just started here in Connecticut with a new law just passed last October! insane!

It's the only way my son have been able to get tix to Red Sox games and last one's I had were 'obstructed view'!

I remember in 2003 when I decided the day before Easter Sunday...that we'd try to go to the Jays vs. Sox game. No problem! Great day too since it was a meet and greet w/the Sox team. Turned out that we didn't care for our seats. They weren't bad - but I fugure it wouldn't hurt to ask. So I went over to the box office and for a few bucks more...got better seats!

Went to the Sox vs Devil Rays that Fall 2003...no problem getting box seats. Now those same seats are going for $3-500+ I think I had paid $140 for the pair.

I did get tix from ebay for a Lightfoot show and I found a seller on ebay who was 'reasonable'. These were great front row seats and double the original cost. But the seller shipped for free. Another seller -same show was asking $80 more and $15 for shipping.

this was a show I had decided to go to just 3 weeks before and I thought it was worth paying extra to travel so far and know I was going to have great seats to boot.

Prior to October - CT re-selllers weren't allowed to charge above $3 (I think it was) the cost of a ticket. But you know - they had ways of getting around that. Now I think they can charge up to $1300? above the retail!

I wish I knew how the ticket brokers are able to buy up large blocks of seats at one time... then I (or one of us) could buy seats to distribute to fellow Corfidians at FACE VALUE!!!
