Re: Box set
His Box Set came out in 1999? THAT long ago? Seems like just a couple of years ago! Oh well, time flies when you are getting old. Is that what Senior Member refers to?

Re: Box set
It's so great and my son was so great to give it to me for XMas. He copied it onto his PC before heading back to campus.
When I first listened to it (and GGII -my cousin gave me), I came across several songs that were very familiar to me. I surprisingly new a few of the lyrics to them and found myself trying to sing along. It took me a few days before it hit me. The memories came flooding back - to the early 80's! Cherokee Bend, Seven Island Suite, Ghosts of Cape Horn -I had 1st become familiar with from a duet (Two For the Show) who used to perform these songs at a downtown pub. In fact 'Ghosts' was the 'house song' at Tilly's pub. One of the guys from the duet became a good friend -I ended up taking guitar lessons from him and we dated a little. Geez, it's been so many years since I've thought of him and listening those songs from Songbook brought it all back. Probably it's been at least 2 decades since I heard these songs. |
Re: Box set
There were so many good songs on Songbook that quickly became favorites of mine. Amazing how little we know of an artist.

Wonderful for you GJA! :) I was somewhat hesitant when deciding if I wanted to buy a box set of an artist that I only knew "the hits" of.
Like you,I went bonkers forthe msuic and played it constantly for over a month. (Kind of gettin' even for all KISS & Elvis my brother had played around me!) ;) |
