It was on this day in 1978 Kath the original Chicago guitarst accidently shot himself.

Kath who also did some lead singing in the early years dispised how by the mid 70s the group was being labeled a ballad band at not what they wrere originally known as a jazz/rock fusion band.

I love his guitar solo in "25 or 6 to 4."

I believe he's the one who sings lead on "Color My World" (??) (Or is it "Saturday In The Park" ?)

If so,his vocals were good too. :)

It's a bit hard to tell Kath and Lamb's voice. Kath's voice is a bit lower and I think he sang Color My World and it might of been Lamb singing Saturday In The Park.

The site that Meredith Lightfoot's creating for her dad reminds me of another.

http://www.terrykath.com/

This site about the late Chicago guitarist is being developed by his daughter Michelle who sadly never really knew him since she was a year old when he died.

Re: Terry Kath Site.

Fascinating and thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm a big fan of his and it's so cool that his daughter is going to do this in memory of her dad.

Re: Terry Kath.

Yes, Kath did indeed sing Color My World, but it's his soulful vocals on Make Me Smile that really showcased his one-of-a-kind voice.

Re: Terry Kath Site.

Well,I was only 9 & 1/2 when this happened and didn't know yet who "Chicago" was.
I didn't know about them until 1982 and the hit "Hard to Say I'm Sorry'.

I have all their hits now, with all their Columbia singles on a Canadian Impot "Greatest Hits" CD. I know Terry was a founding memeber,so like in any group,I'm sure his loss was a hard one for them.
