"Cat's In The Cradle" is his biggest song Jess, #1 for 1 week in December of 1974. (Should have at least been 6 weeks. :rolleyes:

It's a terrific song Border, and your right about Gord probably would be saying the same thing. :)

I think that it was a mutual admiration thing. I saw Harry and Gord and James Taylor and John Denver in Detroit in '72 (?) for a World Hunger Benefit...Just them and their guitars. My favorite concert of all time. They all seemed to be having a great time and sang each other's tunes and sang duets. Of course that was a long time ago, but I can still remember some of it!!!

I read about that concert with these 4 poet. It's in one of my books on Lightfoot, with the photo of the 4. Sadly only 2 are still here with us.

Yes, two of our GREATEST singer/songwriters taken WAY too soon.

I know that pretty much all the singer songwriters of that era admired each-other.
In a PBS broadcast tribute to Harry,Bruce Springsteen came out and told a story about when he knew him.

I forget what he said but he sang one of Chapin's songs (it's been a long time since I saw the special). If Springsteen and Chapin had mututal admiration,then most likely they all did. :)

Note:Chapin's only other hits were "Taxi",
"W-O-L-D" (like east coast radio station call letters) and
"Sequel" which was sort of part 2 of the "Taxi" story.
