New CD coming out for Buffett, I just watched the video of one of the songs Bama Breeze on margaritaville.com
Sounds a little more on the country side, but still Buffett through and through. |
oh yeah!!! - I watched it earlier today...LOVE JB!
He's livin' the life I want! lol |
I caught part of an interview with JB on CMT a few weeks ago, quite by accident, and was struck by the similarities in work habits between Gord and Jimmy. JB may look laid back but he takes care of his business, and runs it that way (as a business.)He LOVES his fans. He knows perfectly well he'd be bartending somewhere without 'em and is a little bemused by the parrotheads but very grateful too.

A work-a-holic....but he was admittedly influenced by Lightfoot.

Imagry? What Kind? I know a lot of his songs remind me of the warm tropics and his Cheeseburger In Paradise has pictures of that? Maybe that's what your thinking of.

I know you won't believe this but " I've got my hush puppies on " ( ha ha ), I really love JB and shorts and summer shirts, It's the way I want to go !!!.
Keep Smiling.. Ron |
omigoodness!
I can put on a JB album and be transported off to places I never want to leave! Along with Kris and Gord he's right up there as a singer/songwriter who can do that. I have always said I'm sure in a previous life I was an inhabitant of a tropical Caribbean island and that when I come back after this life I want to be Jimmy Buffet... oh yeah....love, laffs, beaches, bars, boats, music....he's livin' the life... "we are the people our parents warned us about" - J.B. a song written by JB when he was around 34 - back in 1980: JB will be 60 come Christmas... GROWING OLDER BUT NOT UP For all those who dont feel as old as they are and never will I rounded first never thought of the worst As I studied the shortstops position Crack went my leg like the shell of an egg Someone call a decent physician Im no pete rose, I cant pretend Though my mind is quite flexible, these brittle bones dont bend Chorus: Im growing older but not up My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck Let those winds of time blow over my head Id rather die while Im living than live while Im dead Sometimes I see me as old manatee Headin south as the waters grow colder Tries to steer clear of the hum-drum so near It cuts prop scars deep in his shoulder But thats how it goes (thats how it goes), right to the end Though his bodys quite flexible, that barnacle brain dont bend Chorus: Im growing older but not up My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck Let those winds of time blow over my head Id rather die while Im livin than live while Im dead Now dont get me wrong This is not a sad song Just events that I have happened to witness And time takes its toll as we head for the poll And no one dies from physical fitness So what the hell, well take it right to the end As the days grow more complicated the nightlife still wins Chorus: Im growing older but not up My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck Let those winds of change blow over my head Id rather die while Im living than live while Im dead Let those winds of time blow over my head Id rather die while Im living than live while Im dead |
<<Id rather die while Im living than live while Im dead
Let those winds of time blow over my head Id rather die while Im living than live while Im dead >> I just love this song. Add me to the Parrothead Membership. Just wish he would fly over this way! |
All this Jimmy Buffett talk was too much for me, so I ordered the " Live at Wrigley Field", DVD from Amazon, then prayed non stop for two weeks that it would work on my TV, thank goodness it does, what a great concert, great atmosphere, and Jimmy is fantastic. The "City of New Orleans", sung from the very top of the grandstand, was a terrific finish.
All the Best, Ron. |
