I feel privileged to have lived so long in England where although some people complain about the BeBeeCeeb from time to time their eclectic mixture of commercial-free programming was often a real delight .Over on this side of the pond now I really miss the quality of UK televising including some of the peculiar programs put put by Channel 4 and instead I have to put up with not 3 major sports but 4!! the one bright spot IMHO is Public broadcasting in the form of PBS who show a very nicely varied mix of programs several by the UK channels including Carlton and even Channel 5. Last night for a change they showed a very well made and quite
humo(ur)ous documentary on the city of Livermore in California (to the east of san Francisco). I was so impressed that I have written a page for my web site at:- http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/livermore ------------------ My Gordon Lightfoot webring starts at http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/lightfoot [This message has been edited by johnfowles (edited November 26, 2003).] |
Small world John,
My best Marine Corps buddy lives in Livermore and I have actually stayed there, ate out there and did all sorts of stuff there. Even drove by the place where that famous lightbulb resides. I must remember to tell him that they're world famous the next time I call out there (ring him up?). Thanks for the posting. Bill http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif |
