can anyone out there tell me what the difference is between a high string guitar & a regular guitar? i've noticed that Gord uses the high string on several of his albums.
appreciate any info.

I don't think Gordon plays his guitar strung this way, it would be either Red Shea or Terry Clements. I think High String refers to 'Nashville Tuning' a standard 6 string with the high E & B strings tuned normally with the 4 lower strings (E,A,D & G) tuned an octave higher. To do this you would use the octave strings from a 12 string guitar. So you play standard chords but get a different voicing.

thank you for the info, David! i played an acoustic for a few years, but i couldn't come to grips with all the different tunings there are, i.e. which tuning to use on which song. i wanted to use a standard tuning for everything!
thanks again for your help!
