What is a Ringneck Loon, or THE Ringneck Loon? It's not in the dictionary.

(sorry, that's so long it won't copy)

From message 2:
"Hi,
I saw Gord on May 16th at Westbury Music Fair and he said the song was about
the common loon "with the perfect ring around it's neck".
Bill"

And from our Val in message 8, same thread:

"It isn't the name of a type of loon. He calls it 'ringneck' because of the
colorful ring of feathers around it's neck. I believe it is the 'common' loon. He
has said something to that effect in some of his concert introductions to the
song."

DMD...are you losing it at such a young age, buddy? you asked this same question previously on December 27, 2003 in a thread you created after receiving the "APPT" cd. Here is the reply that I gave you then:

DMD: A ringneck loon is a type of loon with a distinctive white "ring" around its neck. The loon is a diving type of water fowl native to northern regions. It is similar to a duck or a Canada goose, but with a longer neck and it is unique in that it has a very distinctive vocal call that sounds like it is laughing.

Thanks. I forgot to read my topic about receiving APPT.
