Not that there's a problem with the original, (like Endless Wire, both recordings are good, but it's nice to hear the loud orignal and then sometimes the slightly more laid back version on GG2) but are there any songs you'd like to hear redone by Gord?
Magnificent Outpouring- (I'd like the remake to be much like the remake of High And Dry) Only Love Would Know It's Too Late, He Wins Restless Summer Side Of Life |
"Summer Side Of Life". Plain Acoustic, 2 Guitars and a Bass.

The "East of Midnight" album was so overproduced I would love to hear Lightfoot record acoustic versions of "I'll Tag Along" and "Morning Glory."
The live, solo acoustic version of "I'll Tag Along" he performed in 1987 as part of the Fordham University radio interview was far superior to the album version. I wish he would put that tune into his concert rotation. |
there is an acoustic East of midnight floating around...

It needs to be released on album.

I love the acoustic version of I'll Tag Along. I think the video was recorded in an empty Masse Hall, wasn't it?

The one song I really wish he would rerecord is "Spin Spin" yes I know that there are two versions available on CD already but if the band were to tackle it afresh and rerecord it I would be extremely happy.

Douglas, if you go to the home page, and click on songs you will find a listing of all the songs that have been on albums. Spin, Spin is on Sunday Concert, I'll Tag Along is on East of Midnight (although, probably not the acoustic one).

I think a little bit of a re-do on "Poor little Allison" would be nice. It's the only song on IYCRMM that I would change though,I have never been able to "really" get into that one.
Possibly a tweak or two to,"Dream Street Rose". By the way,in folks talking about an acoustic version of "I'll Tag Along",I heard that around the time of "Waiting For You" Gordon did a Canadian TV special of some sort, that concluded with an acoustic version of that song. :) Wouldn't you love to see that? I'm sure anyone here from Canada can verify that I'm possibly right. ;) |
