Today's 'Toronto Sun' has a feature asking readers

"Despite the iPod's cultural invasion, we know there are still those of you who can appreciate a masterly-crafted album. CANOE Live is giving you a chance to tell us about them. Is there an album that has yet to leave your stereo? New or old, hip-hop or indie... tell us why there will forever be a void in our lives that may only be filled with a spin of your favourite disc"

For those "Lightheads" who wish to invest a few moments, I'm sure your album of choice would be one, if not any of Gord's. Please add your choice and comments and see if we can stack the results in favour of our personal hero.

The URL below should bring you there,

The votes for Lightfoot are piling up, check it out !

Nantucket Sleighride ? Remember it like it was yesterday. "An old salt is sleeping his watch away - he'll be drunk again before noon " I'd like to hear Gord cover that one...

Bill :)

Mine and Charlene's are up there too!!

Maybe we'll start a Lightfoot "renaissance" period?! :D

Thanks to all that added their vote for Gord on the essential disc list. None of us in this group have any doubt about the talent he is. Here in Canada everyone has heard of Gordon Lightfoot, but sadly, much of the country takes him forgranted.

Perhaps "The Sun" will determine some "hanky-panky" in the number of votes Gord received from you good folk. I, on the other hand, hope the entertainment editors look into this further and perhaps devote a full page article on Gord especially with his annual Massey stint comming up.

Thanks for the indulgence!

(a special thanks to Bill W for remembering Mountain's tremendous 1970 releace of "Nantucket Sleighride" I thought the only Mick Jagger and myself were rockers "That Old!")

Yuri,

Thanks for the "heads up" on this; without your post I would have missed casting my vote. Glad I could be a part of this.

Borderstone, no need for a Lightfoot resurgence quite yet, because in my view, he's never been away, he's always been at his peak, and he really hasn't waned a bit. Optimistic, yes, reawakening, not quite yet.
