If so, are these circulating privately amongst collectors for this current tour?

Better yet, does Gord have a trading policy?

They seem to be pretty strict with bootlegs and do not allow it. I wish they did though.

Chances are the tours are being recorded right from the soundboard these days digitally. Gord said that the Massey 2001 run is in the vault. That's how No Hotel and Shellfish ended up on Harmony :)

Not to be morbid or anything but given his near death experience I would expect Barry Harvey is recording these concerts, maybe not everyone of them but a good chunk of them.

I think a well organized letter writing campaign to EMP might prompt another live performance on DVD and CD.

Depending on the theatre cameras are pretty well tolerated... having an tape recorder is kind of bulky to hide in your sweater. :)

I know he is rarely ever on TV but when he is I just record him digitally on the fly. The audio is piped right into my computer from the digital box.

I think that one day when he is not around any longer, the world will be looking back thinking how stupid it was not to record many more performances...just my personal opinion.

I'm signed in other groups too, and everywhere the fans trading live recordings.
I'm very interested in Gordon's shows recordings and i do like to share them with other fans, but i know that this is not the policy of this group.
But anyway, if someone would like to trade with me, just write me.
I also like to say hello to Mende, it's good to hear you....we make some good trade together!

Hi, I'm new to the board and would be interested in doing some trading for non-commercial Gordon audio and video performances. I have a few items available. Drop me a line if interested.

I was speaking to the sound man at this year's Massey shows, and he told me every show Gord has done for the last few years has been recorded. I asked him why, and he said it was merely for archival purposes.

It's not that trading isn't the policy of this group - it's the policy of EMP and Lightfoot, himself.

You'll find many folks here who have recordings and trade them - it's just not done publically and usually only between true Lightfoot fans - not someone just out to make a buck on eBay - so the folks who trade here are usually very careful, very selective and very quiet about it.

I have no opionion on taping but I have one on "clapping along". No one is good at it, no one, period, so just don't do it.

It ruins the beginning of the songs on tape, oh I guess I do have an opinion on taping.

Fair warning - if you're sitting in front of me and "clappping along" I will duct tape your arms to the seat when the Summer Tour starts. He has a drummer - he doesn't need your help.

Bill :)

Kidding ? Not really !

And add to that the one guy - and it's usually a guy - screaming out his undying love and admiration either while Gord is trying to speak or during a quiet segment of a song. If it's annoying to me, I can only imagine how distracting and irritating it is to Gord.

I couldn't agree more, Annie. It spoils the moment for everyone. However I did hear one "call out" of undying love and admiration on Saturday night at Massey this May that will stick with me forever. That one guy started and many joined in while Gord was trying to talk and it irritated the heck out of me. But it was the last one that got us all...daughter Meredith's "I love you Daddy". I would love to hear that at every concert and I hope they got it on tape.

Auburn Annie 06-29-2005 09:45 AM

Agreed, the "I love you Daddy" stays - let's hope they can edit the rest out. We were at the same concert.
