Does any one have an idea what the weather might be like in Texas next month? Especially Austin, Ft. Worth and Houston. :)
I have never been to Texas and am looking forward to this new adventure. :D |
It will be warm and in the low 80's at showtime in Austin. The venue is outdoors and showtime is 7 pm. I will be at the Austin and Houston shows.

Thank you John D. Maybe we will meet. :)

Those going to the Austin concert should try to make contact with each other to arrange a pre concertdinner meeting together with two very keen fans who live in Austin
They are Melissa Joe (and her husband Denny) a super couple, Melissa's version of Heaven Help The Devil, May He Have Some Unpleasant Memories is as all who heard her sing it at last November's Toronto Jam session will attest, quite simply devine. She has posted here as Melissa 5 times most recently on last year's cancelled concert topic at http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...137;p=2#000068 you can use the corfid private message system to send her a message which is what I intend to do next myself I'll apologise in advance but I feel the need to retell my favourite Texas weather related anecdote This goes back to the wonderful Expo 1967 summer in Montreal http://www.rockdiscography.com/posse.../lo_expo67.jpg http://www.rockdiscography.com/posse...7greatbrit.jpg the amusing and imaginative UK Pavilion at Expo 67 http://www.expo2000.de/expo2000/gesc...al/16_logo.jpg Ah yes the apochyiphal story. It was reported that airliners from the Lone Star state would arrive at theL'aéroport International airport at Dorval and as I previously recounted this in reply to "Texas" Tom's (another dinner attendee if he gets to Austin??) topic at http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...4408;p=#000015 in which I had the temerity to say that Texans were seen arriving at Dorval airport heavily swathed in full winter gear in July and finding it a touch embarassing to find that the temperature was the best part of 100°F, But it was reasoned that the only time such visitors would normally hear anything of the Great White North was in winter weather forecasts when they were constantly being told that there were "cold winds from Canada" Another such popular tale concerned the first Quebecker that year to venture to Boston where he received a traffic ticket made out to "expo 67" since that was to the cop the registration number on the front of the car http://www.public.netc.net/pepina/expo67.gif I doubt if that fine ever got paid |
Welcome home Sir John,
I really missed your posts. It sure feels good to get away from home for a vacation like that once in a while. :) Don't suppose there is any chance you can make it to Texas? :D Dame Rose |
