No, he doesn't wear them. They don't match his polka-dot underwear.

Can you spell Gordon? G-O-R-D-O-N.
How about hey, as opposed to hay? H-E-Y
Topic? T-O-P-I-C
What the heck is a pattren?

I think you should spend less time in the mall and more time in spelling class.

titan 12-27-2003 06:33 AM

I was just thinking that this is a really wonderful topic. I love gold toed socks too
as well as polka-dotted underware. In fact,
I just got some autographed GL gold toed socks off E-bay. I wrote a poem about gold toed socks. I plan on submitting it to Lightfoot to be recorded in the spring. Please take the time to read because this song will be bigger than IYCRMM.

GOLD TOED SOCKS

Gold toed socks for me
Gold toed socks for you
Just imagine what the world would be like
If they were in your shoe.

Feet that smell like corn chips
Would't bother anyone at all
If they were cloaked in toes of gold
As you watch a baby crawl.

It's an ageless fantasy
To wear these precious things
Gold toed socks and Lighfoot music
Are kings with an eagle's wings.

So take your ruby slippers
And return to The Land of Ahhhhhhs
I got my socks and Gord's Gold here
Just, just, just because.

Itchee Gitcheee Doo-wa oohhh
Itchee Gitchee Doo-wa eeeee
Gold toed socks for you
Gold toed socks for me.

A pattren is someone that donates money to the arts.

Alright, I don't know who is responsible for posting this BS, but it certainly wasn't me. And I don't think it was Borderstone or The Watchman either.

I love it.

This board can be so surreal at times.
(Either that or we have too many teenagers sneaking into their parent's Christmas drinks cupboard.)

And, Cathy - just how can you be so certain exactly what underwear Gord wears. I think we should be told.

Gord told us all in "Wild Strawberries"

"People often ask me just the way it must feel, To be standing up here with you down there, Let it now be known that throughout all of these years I have been wearing polka dot underwear"

violet Blue Horse 12-27-2003 08:56 PM

Which begs the age old question ladies:

Boxers or briefs?

I'm guessing boxers.

SomewhereupinMichigan 12-27-2003 11:26 PM

Yeah...Gord has to be a boxers guy. I have yet to see polka-dot briefs. Gotta be the boxers!

Rebecca 12-28-2003 02:24 AM

Jenney,
I don't wish to be critical, but I believe the word you're thinking of is actually spelled "paytrun." We still don't know what a pattren is.

Yes!!! Exactly!! It's a new line of GL wear featuring, Gold Toe Socks and Polka-dotted underware. It can be purchased at most major department stores. The socks retail for $4.99 a pair and the underware is three pair for $7.99. I'll send you a catalog.

Oh, you mean like the price of tickets to the Art and Paul concerts? I'd say the pattrens of that donated an unreasonable amount.
Hmmm. I bet most of Gord pattrens would donate that amount to see him perform again, though.

It was a joke Annie, I actually did know how it was spelled! There are many words that I can mangle the spelling of myself, but that one I did know!
