Well, drats, you can't. But, what you could do is to hop onto a NJ Transit Northeast Corridor train at Penn Station to New Brunswick, NJ and join us at the State Theater there on Thursday, August 3rd, 2006!!!
That's right...why have to wait until next April when it's so easy to come over here and see him in just a few short weeks. The theater is just a four block walk and there are lots of nice restaurants along the way if you can get in early enough to get seated before the show which starts at 8 p.m. The link for the theater is: web page Hmmm, in case I'm wrong about how to use this site's technology to post that url (and I'm sure if I'm wrong, I'll be told!) it's also known as plain old www.statetheaternj.org Well, there are still good seats left, though I did receive a very nice full-coloUr postcard of Gord today from the theater, so I'd expect sales to get busy from the newly en"light"ened. You can order online or, if you call the box office directly, you can save a few bucks. It's a nice theater, another oldie that was restored, but done well, as New Brunswick is the home of Rutgers University and gets lots of use. We saw Peter, Paul and Mary there in April and had the very last row in the very last balcony/gallery and the sound was quite good. I did use binoculars but only because I like to see those lips moving! Well, I do hope that maybe someone who hadn't realized how easy it could be to see Gord sooner (in addition to later!) will be helped by this post. I've always hated finding out too late that I *could* have seen a concert and missed it. Hope to see you there! |

Susan - yes, regarding missing a concert when you could have seen it....
Around 1998, I was set-up to stay in San Diego at Humphrey's by-the-bay by a secretary without my prior knowledge it was one of Gord's favourite venues. What with the boat slips just 100 feet from the stage and lawn... maybe he "put-in" there with Sundown or his larger Yacht. Likely not with concert crew et al in tow.... just an image I like to envision... Well I was sent there to attend a conference at the S.D. Convention center, the new big one, and it turned out to be just ONE WEEK after missing a concert there by Gord. I'd of put up with the polyester-flammable fake Polynesian fern-bar for a week extra before the concert if I had known this... don't know if the agency I was with would have put up with that.... LOL oh well You kind efforts to inform corfidians how to get to an otherwise unattendable show are very kind. Thanks, geo Steve |
