MACKINAW CITY - Alison Cram has traveled the country, mingled with the famous and earned national recognition - all because of a love of horses......

<snip>

While professionally riding and training horses, Cram worked for a variety of people, many of whom she describes as wealthy and famous. Her work brought her to many states and in her travels she met celebrities such as singer Liza Minelli, jockey Willie Shoemaker, entertainers Sammy Davis Jr. and Kurt Russel, and even dated musicians Gordon Lightfoot and Joe Walsh.

Wonder when this was.

From Songbook:

"There's no real Allison; it's purely from the imagination."

That's not to say that he didn't date this Alison Cram, but it looks like the song wasn't written with her in mind. Oh well.

Thankyou for posting that Annie " How do you find these things ??? ".

Thats good enough for me I think Gord wrote " Poor Little Allison " after Cram, and " The Pony Man " after her brother... lol.

When I was at "Engineers School" in the late '60s we were shown the film of the building of the Mackinaw Straits Bridge, so often that I remember it by heart. Not that any of us ever built a bridge anything like it...but we all know how to build a "suspension bridge", if anyone should offer us the job... lol.

But what a beautiful place !!!.

Keep Smiling Everyone... Ron.
