It's about blinking time.... I was at my local CD store just 10 minutes ago and I finally picked up Dream Street Rose on CD.

Only took the buggers 6 months after the fact to bring it in. Old Dan's Record's was there, so I am guessing in 6 more months the other 2 will be available.

The burn I created did the job but it doesn't compare from the factory at all http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Unfortunately, Gord's music is no longer flying out the door, so most music stores are keeping extremely low supplies of his CDs, if at all. Several force you to order. Amazon, CDNow and Best Buy-online are very good online sources that tend to have decent pricing and quick shipping.

All good sources but don't forget CDUniverse.com if you want it fast and cheap! I still love to browse the stores but the on-line guys always seem to beat their prices even when you include shipping. And when you're looking for Gordon Lightfoot, for example, many times it's slim pickings at the local mall, LOL.

Well, I am having a lot of fun on ebay at the moment - got about five Gordon items on the run!

I am glad that record stores here in the old UK are not the only un-enlightened ones re GL - I only ever found two Cds in shops here - and I imagined that int e States and canada they had whole displays dedicated only to him!

I've been in some of the largest stores here in the States and the biggest display was about "half a bin" or 20 or so CDs and 15 of them were the new greatest hits CD. I've bought most of mine on-line but now that the collection is complete I'll have to wait for THE NEXT ONE and a couple bootlegs here and there.

Big displays of Gordon Lightfoot in the record stores??? HAHAHAHAHA ya right... nope sorry to say he is usually well hidden and the selection leaves something to be desired at best.

I think he has reached the status of say Frank Sinatra from my younger days, I certainly knew who Frank was when I was 10 but to me he wasn't cool and his music was relegated to the back shelf.

That's my take on it.

Whenever I'm in the local music store I 'rearrange' the displays putting Gord's CDs face out. Last time I was in Borders they had two rows of assorted CDs but had sold out Songbook (they were there a week earlier).

My dad used to play "I Walk The Line" by Johnny Cash on a BIG old record player in the basement and my brother and sister and I used to rollerskate around the furnace to that song...over and over, round and round...it was fun! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
