Ok, so what song of Gord's most aptly applies to our new heroine from this conflict in the Middleeast?

Sorry, I must be out of the loop but who is our new "heroine"?

TheWatchman 04-04-2003 06:24 AM

Jessica Lynch? She was the young woman that was rescued from the Iraqi POW hospital with 2 broken legs, vertebrates etc. I saw on a bi-line that she emptied her weapon killing several Iraqi soldiers before she was captured. She is now in a hospital in Germany where she is being treated.

That young girl has been on my mind an awful lot since I heard of her story! I am SO glad she was rescued and is safe now.

In our elation at the rescue of this brave young woman, let's not forget her comrades from the 507th who are still missing. One of them was Pfc Shoshana Johnson of Austin, TX. She's a single mother.

Yes indeed, we shall not forget the other POW's. It sure is nice to see a good thing happen to this freedom fighter though. God bless them all and I pray that they have the strength to endure and return home very soon.

And our gratitude must also go to another hero: the Iraqi lawyer, Mohammed ________, who tipped U.S. forces to the location of Jessica Lynch in the hospital. "Mohammed made several risky trips to the hospital, which was full of Iraqi security guards, at the request of U.S. officers. He gathered information on the number of troops and made hand-drawn maps of the building's layout and location." Now that's courage! Mohammed is reported to have said, "Believe me, I love Americans," which should be of interest to all those Americans who hate America.

our flag in the front yard is at half staff in memory of fallen comrades of this conflict and below our flag is the black and white P.O.W. flag. Gods' will be done, let's just keep those prayers going ladies and gentlemen.

Summer Side of Life makes me think of the young men and women fighting right now. The last verse just gives me chills.

I'm still wearing the MIA/POW bracelet from the Vietnam war. I hope we will bring everyone home this time, and it will be over soon.

You know Brink, that is a fact for myself too. And Roseanna, I agree.
