In your opinion, what makes a person a 'Lighthead'? To me it's anyone who is familiar with Gords music besides all of his most widely known hits, such as "Sundown", "Carefree Highway", or "The Wreck of the E.F". I have nothing agains those songs, but everyone knows them.

Someone that recognizes the value within the fabric of his valuable tapestries, the multi-dimensionality of the music and words. Someone that recognizes that his music transcends time and sounds, has as much meaning today as it did when written.
Loves the music, so much, they is drawn to search and want to understand the music in all it's layers, words, melody etc. Kimberly |

Someone who plays "Carefree Highway" off his "Complete Greatest Hits" 500 times in a row, even if it is one of his better known songs. Then that same someone buys his sixty-something-dollar anthology "Songbook" and discovers his lesser-known songs (in this country anyway) and likes them just as much, and instantly becomes a member of one of his fansites. Then that same somebody wants to buy all his other available albums too, so she can find out about songs that she doesn't have. Plus that same someone is on a news mailing list and is awaiting health updates and tour date information. And is praying earnestly for his full and complete recovery.
In short, me. (sound of a new Lighthead being born.....) ------------------ "Pickin' up the pieces of my sweet, shattered dream..." [This message has been edited by AZroute74 (edited March 01, 2004).] |

There is a wide variety of music I listen
to.GL is one of my favourites, and in my oppinion in GL's case, his most famous songs are his best. I understand your question, and true, an artists most well known pieces are not always his or hers best, but i think in Gordons case, they are. Doug |
