Just a topic of politics around election time. Do you think Lightfoot is liberal or Conservative? Would he vote for Kerry or Bush? Granted, that's if he had a vote.
I think he would be a conservative. But feel free to make your case. Just for fun,
there are NO WRONG ANSWERS! Just opinions.

I believe he would be a liberal. He did very well by the policies of a liberal Liberal government during the 70s in Canada (regulations that made playing Canadian artists a priority on radio) as well as things like his stand on the environment and some other things too that I don't want to mention for fear of getting into political arguments. :)

(For those of you not from Canada and who may not know, the Liberal Party is similar to the Democratic Party in the U.S. and the Conservative Party is more along the lines of the Republican Party.)

I think he would be a liberal, his life style in the past would be a good indicator. I know he has changed but how much? Anybody's guess, for all we know he is sitting in his living room smoking a big fat one right now. He is pretty quiet about his views of politics.

titan,
No offense intended but were you here the last time there was a political thread ? I ask because it was a disaster. Lightfoot has fans across the spectrum of political affiliations and many of the terms do not mean quite the same thing in different countries. Also a few folks used the question as a reason to give us a big lecture on their worldviews. I know you said there are no wrong answers but most people do not believe that and are easily offended.

But since you asked I think GL is a singer/songwriter almost without a peer. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

hmmm? That would be what ever you imagine Bill, it's left up to each imagination.

Political topics can be a disaster, it's true. It was not my intention to cause trouble. I find politics to be interesting and I have been thinking about the upcoming election so I thought some other people would want to state their views on this.
Besides, even if someone gets upset over somebody's political views, it certainly has happened before, and will happen again. We have seen some knock down, drag out arguments on this forum and more are bound to happen. Usually, the person that begins the argument is just looking for a conflict.

Back in the '70's Gord told "Stereo Review"
magazine that he tended to vote liberal.
Of course, many younger liberals tend to
age into older conservatives, even up in the Great White North.

BUttttt... surely Gord is a member of the "Bitter Green" party??
John Fowles
a bit of an obviously bad pun from http://www.badpuns.com/

Politics - A kind of bloodsucking parasite that infects parrots. (it makes them talk too much)
