Dear all,
If Gord did release a new album, what do you think, it would be like?
What style?
Similar to "Painter".

Frank.

For kicks and giggles I'm thinkin' grunge.

Actually, "Canadian Railroad Trilogy"-revisited, might be an interesting idea. Perhaps this would be an opportunity to touch on rail travel in a more extensive way.

Gord could even do his own version of "City of New Orleans", "Wabash Canonball" (American Railroad) among some original material about the Canadian Railroad. Just a thought.

I would hope Gordon's next album (other than Christmas) would break new ground. Bob Dylan came out with a couple "roots" albums (Good As I Been To You & World Gone Wrong) and I didn't even like them...gave'em to my Dad. I know that sometimes touching your roots can re-energize you...as Dylan's last album did win Grammy (Time Out of Mind), which broke new ground for him...a deep rich album with Dylans voice up front. I would like to hear new songs that explore Gord's life in his 60's about his contentments and fustrations, fears and joys.

Signs of a life without sorrow
The better to forget
than to be all that upset

I was just wondering . . . has Gord ever recorded a Christmas album? As for his next album, I just hope he doesn't stray too far from his own style. I have a hard time enjoying the twangy, "country music" sound I hear in some of his more recent albums. I have noticed, however, that most of those songs were not written by Gord. Just a thought, and a Happy New Year to all. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
