I'm so glad to see him up and about but couldn't they have chosen a different angle to take his picture from? I've never really liked anyone's picture (including my own) taken from that angle. I really can't say why, except that it just looks odd to me. B. O.H. & A.B.

Much as I love Gord, I really dont like looking up his nose! What on earth was that photographer trying to prove?
I hate this picture!
(But thanks Gord for posting it) http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

He's ontop of the world and will conquer his ailments. He is in control of his future and is taking it head on. At least that is what I got from the pic.

Silverheels,
I agree, the angle was just plain bad!
Please allow me to retract my comment regarding that other picture of him, on Sunday morning I was buzzing through those pictures and really never looked real close at the picture. After church, I went to work and placed the pictures and articles in a folder in my attache, today, I reexamined those pictures and I lied, the picture of Gord with his arms crossed in front of himself was a very good picture. I just need to slow down to supersonic speed and smell the roses or coffee or...forgive me will you all?

And the other one of him in the lounging pose (draped across the pillows or whatever), man... Is he in a new period in his life that has changed him that much? I mean he is good looking and lookin' well, but...where is that same old lover man?

Okay, I must have missed that one - draped across pillows?? Did somebody post this one, and if so where?

As for "but ... where is that same old lover man?", I guess you'd have to ask Liz [LOL].

What I was implying was has his music changed as his personification has...example, on the cover of GG2, he has this I am who I am look, now it's strange.
That's what the loverman comment was about.

I think you have to remember too that GGII was released in the late 80s...15 years ago with photos that were likely a bit older. The man is now 64, having survived a critical illness, frankly he just isn't going to look the same. None of us do from our mid-late 40s and then in our mid 60s. My God, it doesn't seem possible that Gord could be this age, does it? We are all such fans and we remember him as a 30- and 40-something guy. Not a mid 60s retiree! I think he looks great for a man of his age and circumstances. I am 47 and I hope I look as good at 64 as he does! But I don't expect that I will look at all like the same guy I am today. It's called aging and it is coming on all too fast!

SomewhereinMichigan,

I love the way Gord looks at 64. I just
hate that particular up-his-nose shot, taken from that most unflattering angle. The larger pic. which Char scanned over was WONDERFUL! He looks great!

I hope he lives a hundred years (and me too) so that I can continue to enjoy his music
and hopefully his performances. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ditto, Silverheels. I hope Gord hits the century mark, or more, in good health. That's what I'm also aiming for (and I had two grandparents who just missed 90, so the genes are there.)

See gwen's first post on this topic edit.

Not one of his better pics for sure but I think I understand what the photographer was trying to do. It just makes him look pretty thin. I know I wouldn't want my pic taken from that angle.

Great photo of a great man!!!!
So many see the negative

gwen snyder 04-27-2003 10:44 AM

Sor-r-ry. It really was a good picture, please forgive me.

We're not seeing the negative,we just don't want to see "that" much of Gord. We're all glad he's okay and no one could ever say otherwise.
