""He has a bad back," Gordon Lightfoot said of his guitarist. "And I had a transient stroke. But it's fun." is a report by Rob Thomas on last nights concert in the capital of Wisconsin at:- http://www.madison.com/tct/entertain...=99953&ntpid=0 which includes this fine appreciation of Gord's voice (A tip for aspiring young singers: Having a voice that sounds lived-in and weathered when you're young will help you 40 years down the road.) and ended with "And, whatever challenges old age might bring, it's fun." Excellent! How true the tip for young aspiring singers is. That voice is truly unique...one-of-a-kind, and never to be replicated.

Oh my word - a head cold too?? When it rains, it pours. I wonder which of the guys has a bad back.

I'm not musically inclined (playing, that is) so when I hear "guitarist" I figure that's a person who plays a guitar, in general. And there are two of them (Terry and Rick), plus Gord. The columnist didn't differentiate between bass guitar or rhythm guitar or any other kind, and neither did Gord. Not that it matters (except to the poor soul with the bad back.)
I was more concerned that, on top of everything else, Gord has a head cold. |
Maybe in turn for Terry taking over some of his guitar parts, Gordon could give him a good back massage... ;)
Good thing they have a day off and can all rest a bit. |
