I listened to the "Salute" album about 4 times in a row in my car on Valentine's Day. Recently having been dumped by a certain girl, the lyrics "loving girls too much sometimes can make you cry" and "we've got a lot more living to do" put me in the right frame of mind. Also, since I got the CD in Sept. I have also grown to like "Gotta Get Away" Perhaps one of Gord's most rocking songs. But what is kind of weird is that "Biscuit City" almost brought tears to my eyes as I'd almost wished I could go there myself. Well enough ramble for now. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah, I know what you mean about loving certain girls too much! More than once I drowned my sorrows with Gord. Beats the bottle from a health standpoint, but that ain't bad either! Combination of Gord and the bottle works best, I've found. Unfortunately for me, back in the days when I was doing most of my sorrow-drowning, there were a lot fewer GL albums/cds to help see me through.

Ahh, the blues and romance. The song that got me today was "She's Not the Same".

"All the Lovely Ladies", along with all the other songs just mentioned, is a great valentine song. Mr. Lightfoot even said himself in the songbook that it was their most famous valentine song.

Actually,Gord's music cheers me up. When I had a mutual parting with my last girlfriend it was Mariah Carey I couldn't listen to. Mainly the songs "Forever" and "Underneath The Stars" & the title track from Music Box. If I go on about Mariah,it's because, same as Gord,I have all of her albums too! I'd like her even more if she could go even deeper in her lyric writing. Thankfully,I can listen to her now without getting downhearted. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Catch ya on the flipside of Sundown! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif
