Given the current health of the great Gordon Lightfoot, it is unknown how much touring
his body will allow once he is up and performing again. I, like all of you, hope
GL has a 110% recovery and goes coast 2 coast
ASAP. But what if it has to be limited.
Are you like me? Will it be planes, trains
and\or automobiles to see him in another city, or are your
memories enough? I just feel like I have to see him perform at least one more time.I
realize that most of us can't just pick up and take a trip for a concert, but I am just
curious.

I've already crossed the Pond several times to see him and I am certainly going to be there when he returns to Massey (or whichever venue it might be).

He's worth it.

I've got my Massey tickets from Nov 2002 - just waitin' for the reschedule date

I have no doubt in my mind that he'll be here in Phoenix once again.
I wish I could go back in time now and see all the times he was here, after my family's moving here in 1980.
I missed his stop here in the fall of 2000 but my father had just "moved on" about 2 or 3 months before. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/frown.gif So,I really wasn't up for it.
I'm sure Gordon is more sensible now than he was in younger days but once someone has a streak of stubborness,it never leaves. So he just might make it a big tour anyway.

Here's to future dates! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Been me,later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

Borderstone,gonna post some lines tonight!:D

I know there's only been a few responses so far, but I'm getting the feeling that
when the next tour starts, he'll have
plenty of sold out gigs!

I suspect he'll stick to Southern Ontario initially... that way if he runs into problems he's not far from his doctors http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

It costs quite a bit to fly from the UK to Toronto but I’ll definitely be there 2 or 3 times next year.

There are rumours of two new cheapy, no frills airlines starting up April/May from Bimingham (UK) and Gatwick to Toronto so, you never know, I might be able to make several more concerts.

Even better – Gord could send over his jet to pick up Bru, Mair and me............

He’ll give us the keys to his flying machine. (He did mean ‘plane, didn’t he?????? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif )

Ya know, I've been giving that very thing some thought. When he performs at Massey again I think I'd like to be there. I'm guessing I'll have six months to a year to save up for it. I'd have to get a passport and spend a small fortune, but then I believe there are a few things in life worth moving heaven and earth for. It would be a nice little vacation too http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Given the current state of Air Canada
these days, you may want to keep hoping
that someone does send you a private jet
Gabby!!! Hoping you make it to many more
GL concerts

Peace

Hey, those UK flights fly right over Northern Maine. Have him stop and pick me up, too.

When I crossed over in May of 2001 for the Massey concerts/Lighthead convention, a passport wasn't required - of course things may have changed in the past couple of years. The good thing, Violet, is that US dollars to Canadian dollars is in our favor so you won't have to save as much as you might think http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yes Violet, its true, Janice is right.
Air Canada is not the only thing struggling
up here. Our $, well, its trying really
hard! Its the highest its ever been
against th US $, however, still very much
in your favour. Did I spell favour right,
or is it favor! Anyways, if I can spend
my little canadian money down there for
a GL show, I expect to see you spending
the all mighty american buck up here!!!
Kidding! i hope you enjoy the GL shows
wherever you end up seeing him.

Peace

Doug

P.S I believe that since 9\11 a passport
may be good idea.

I'll be at the next concert in Toronto, and remember Borderstone you are taking the bus from Phoenix to Frisco (about 70 miles from Denver), I will pick you up there and we will head North. Oma wants to come but she has her own Soccer Mom van now so she might follow us. We can pick up any other Lighthead along the way that needs a ride.

Violet Blue Horse yes, a passport is real important these days on the longest international border at peace with one another. They will accept a birth certificate, but, the passport is well worth investing in (very few questions asked of you by border guards). Apply now all because it takes a long time to get a passport!!!! Don't try to get back into U.S. without a passport or a birth certificate, they get pretty upset.
