From Cold on the Shoulder: All the Lovely Ladies, Fine as Fine Can Be & Cherokee Bend are an enjoyable trio.

Also The first three on Gords Gold: Ribbon of Darkness, Song for a Winters Night and Canadian Railroad Trilogy are a nice three in a row.

I think you can start just about anywhere on SSOL, DonQ or Shadows and get three great songs in a row. Also the first 3 songs on each side of Sundown.

I've never taken this route before! I can put every Cd, album (whatever) on and every song that comes on is like a new start to me. And when it's over it is finished. Then the delight begins again with the next song. I have never thought of a continuous play sort of development in regards to the sequence of songs on any of Gord's albums (or anyone else's either) I can't relate one song to another, even when they run one after the other in sequence on an album. Every one is its' own treasure and for me it is like choosing a favourite child. I can't do it. I have to disqualify myself.

Hi fezo,

I'd like to point out IYCRMM. Once you start, you cannot stop until the CD is finished (or auto-replay starts the CD all over again.).

All songs are fabulous, and you don't get a chance to skip a single song (with the slight exception of Baby It's Allright, which I sometimes skip - but please don't tell anyone http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif).

Infact, it gets to the point where I start to feel a little uneasy if - for example - "Me and Bobby McGee" is not followed by "Approaching Lavender". My ears are trained to the sequence of these songs, and I kind of get a feeling of interruption if another song follows instead of the one I'm used to.

florian - great point! In fact, if I hear another artist's recording of Me and Bobby McGee, I always instinctively start singing Aproaching Lavendar in my head immediately afterward - I guess that's what happens when you listen to every recording about 200 times!

I must first say, this website is beyond words for the Lightfoot fan!. But, I think it's funny that you skip Baby It's Alright. I noticed it was one of your dislikes in another topic. I don't like cobwebs and dust from the same IYCRMM. I also noticed that you don't have it listed in the 'songs' part of the website. Is there any other you skip over? Just wondering...one fan to another.

Shadows is when everything is bad, She's not the same is when you have learned to accept it and 14 Karot Gold is when you've gotten back together and everythings good again.

I don't really know any 3 in a row that I would play over,mainly because I've never really thought about it. I'll have to check my LP's at home. Speaking as someone who's listened to a LOT of music,I can tell you that when an artist gets in a certain groove or mood when recording,a lot of the songs are either going to just sound great together or they'll just sound alike. That's all.
