Is there a Gord song or line in a Gord song that makes you laugh? If I'm in a good mood, I laugh when he sings 'Canary Yellow Canoe'. And in the live version of 'Boss Man' he made some pretty funny noises, I think.

Well, there's always the verse from WILD STRAWBERRIES:

People often ask me just the way it must feel
To be standing up here with you down there
Let it now be known that throughout all of these years
I have been wearing polka dot underwear

That gets a "say WHAT?" reaction the first time you hear it.

And from WALLS: "I'm not ashamed of wearing out my old grey socks
Chasing you around the back woods...." always makes me grin.

Well I bin thinkin' about this and I half to say that:-
my two favo(U)rites are
Firstly and While we are on the subject of feet/socks
1.from I'll Prove My Love

Any way the wind may blow
Any way I stub my toe

and secondly from Lazy Mornin'
an exquisite example of contrived rhyming IMHO:-
Keepin' up with the Joneses
I hope no one telephones us

It sounds kind of childish but in C.Y.Canoe I can't help but laugh when he goes,"Canary yellow canoe,an elephant too!" It's so out of context and having nothing to do with the song it's funny in a silly way. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/tongue.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif I also grin from ear to ear listening to,"The Auctioneer". He sings the lyrics so fast (or so it seems) it's like he's improvising but he's not. Since the lyrics aren't enclosed on the inner sleeve it makes it an odd duck but one of my favorites. Lastly, how about,"The Gypsy"? "She said,Diddle-de-dum-diddle-dee-dee". http://www.corfid.com/ubb/confused.gif You sure wouldn't here anyone trying lyrics like that these days! He says that over and over and you wouldn't really think he'd sing a phrase like that! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Well,diddle-de-dum,diddle-dee-dee,it's been me! Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

Borderstone - AZ's answer to GL! (but what was the question?)

I wonder why did he say "an elephant to" in 'Canary Yellow Canoe'.

Just to be irreverant,I suppose. (If you don't know the word, you can look it up if you wish to.) Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

"Got no more time to gamble on a thing
that ain't too sure
and the dustcloud on the edge of town is me."

from Too Much To Lose.

You know in the Tom and Jerry cartoons when Buster is chasing Tom over a hill and he's silhoueted against the moon, arms spreadeagled?
Well, I see a little, bearded GL.
Ruins the song, mind.

When I'm doing the vacuuming - I jive to CYC
full blast. Only way of getting it done.

Hope you don't mind me posting so much as a new member, but I've been stuck in bed, on and off, for the last 2 months and am absolutely bored !!***!! stiff.

Catching up on my GL, 'tho.

May I- I chuckled when I heard the really fast hillbilly music play at the end

Cold On The Shoulder- In the line "I don't wanna know, everything you've done", he really had to cram those words in there(he sang them really fast)
