How many corfid members participate on Facebook? And what names do you use? We should get some Gord chatter going over there as well.

Bill :)

Just fyi: on facebook I go incognito as "Bill Wallace" and to narrow that down I'm located in Salisbury, Maryland, USA.

Re: Facebook

Sorry, Bill, I'm not on facebook. My older boys love it, my sister loves it...it helps her keep in touch with our relatives overseas and those in the area too. She passes on all the gossip to me, lol. We had lunch in June with a childhood neighbor/friend because my sister reconnected with her through facebook. It was wonderful seeing her again.

Lmk if any interesting Gord discussion begins, that could tempt me to join!

I guess I'm just a little weird, but what with all the strange stories about what goes on on Facebook, it kinda scares me. My brother thinks that I should give it a try, but I'm not so sure.

Re: Facebook

their not strange stories, but when some people discover the site, they jump right into the deep end without getting to know the place. just like learning to ride a bike without training wheels. compulsive posting of photos/links ect. my cousin overseas sent me pics of ladies stilletos and dresses - i dont think i have any interest in that, but they post these to everyone on their friends page

Re: Facebook

Facebook is one of those things in life that can be very beneficial if used properly, but very harmful and dangerous if used improperly.

Facebook lets you chat back and forth with friends that live far away, and it can be a great way to meet new people. But when you go posting too much info on there, and you have your profile set so that everyone can view it (I have mine set so that only friends can see anything), you're asking for trouble. Just don't give to much information about yourself and you won't have anything to worry about.
You also don't want to post when you're going on vacation, because then potential thieves could see it and attempt to break in while you're away.
