GordQuest 2008
Hello to all my Lighthead friends. As GordQuest 2008 will start in 9 days I was wondering who (if anyone) would like to meet. For starters, Ken and I will be in Knoxville, TN, Asheville, NC, Chattanooga, TN, and Atlanta, GA.
Please PM me and let me know. :) DSR |

I'm getting into Chatt. on the 12th and leaving there on the 14th - though I'll probably spend most of the day on the 14th in the city before leaving for my cousin's house in GA. My cousin and I will be at the Atlanta show on the 15th. So anyone who's in town early may find me riding up and down Broad St. on the trolley and I'll also be going to the RR museum and a hike along the river. Only thing I'm concerned about right now is the tranny on my UncleDelmobile! I'll be driving from CT to TN. Am having a used tranny installed on Thursday. Hopefully, I won't end up on the side of the road waving my Lighthead flag...but if so...please stop! |
Re: GordQuest 2008
Have a great time, everyone! :)

Re: GordQuest 2008
Well, it is only 5 days until the first concert. Thank you Pam and Beth for responding to me. Who else wants to just say even a quick hello before the first concerts?
DSR |
Re: GordQuest 2008
A quick Hello DSR, you have yourself a Grand Lightfoot Time. :)
|
Re: GordQuest 2008
Thanks, Jesse Joe. I was just wanting to meet some more corfids but maybe they don't want to meet and that is fine. I am greatful to be able to give support to Gordon and those wonderful men who are a going to be on that stage for the first time without our Barry. They are professionals so probably it will not show how they really feel. Well, I am starting to get excited.

Smells like spring somewhere when the Gord flowers/Concerts start popping up all over.
I will be down in that neck of the woods in 2 weeks, however, Gord won't be. You lucky Lightheads. Hope the concerts are FANTASTIC!!! |

Re: GordQuest 2008 -Chattanooga from TennTroubadour
Hey Char, thanks a bunch for the link to The Cumberland Trio and the "props!!" :-) Hope all you Lightheads enjoy our music & concert videos.
The Chattanooga show exceeeded my wildest expectations- sold out hall with INCREDIBLE acoustics. It was a wildly enthusiastic crowd which really pumped Gord & the guys up. His voice was MUCH, MUCH better than Nashville a few months ago, and he became more animated as the show progressed, and the audience kept loving him back. He was REALLY happy, and it showed. The Tivoli acoustics are so damn good that we could hear Rick & Terry's unmiced harmony vocals from the 6th row!! He did almost two hours, and I'm sure someone will post a set list. The second half especially was a love fest as he added Pony Man by request to the set. After the encore he came out a 2nd time for extended smiles, waves and those signature bows!! After the show, he was really upbeat and visited with the few of us with backstage passes (THANKS ANN LIEBOLD!!), along with the meet and greet for the drawing winners of a local radio station sponsor. All this occured down front in the hall itself- not backstage. NOWWWW....for those of you in suspense, Dore really did herself proud last night!! She was a model of decorum. Gord did recognize her from the audience when she did her signature "You are AWESOME" after the first song. After the show she had some chocolates in the form of long stem red roses and gave Gord one along with band members, other Lightheads....AND even...yes ME!! :-) We had a really good visit, and she is a fine lady, and forgave me for my post after the Nashville concert, for which I politely apologized in person, telling her I should have sent it to her privately. We even had our picture made together by her wonderful husband Ken. I had a really good 5-10 minute private visit with Gord, reminiscing about our mutual experiences during the good ol' days of the folk era from our first meeting in Toronto in 1966 at the Riverboat to jamming at Bradley's Barn in Nashville in the late '60s and mid '70s et al. My close friend and ARDENT Gord fan, John from Austin, TX (aka the "Pen Man"), flew up as our guest for the show and had his incredible exotic wood ball point pens for Gord and each of the band guys. John has a Gibson B-45-12 that all you Gord fanantic players would die for- a 1964 cherry sunburst exactly like Gord's two. SOOOO... all in all it was a great concert and a fantastic evening. Cya at Massey 2008 in May!!!! |
Re: GordQuest 2008
OK, Kathy #4 . . .
I'll be in deep ponder over your Florida Joy hooking up w/ DRS and entourage' on 17 Feb. I suspicion you *DO* have that Signed Patch-Jacket from The Mouse House of Blues in tow . . . !? Rez |

Re: 4 April Show at Aronoff Center For The Arts, Cincinnati, OH
Are any of you attending Gord's Arnoff Center concert? If so, please let me know. An e-friend in Cincinatti has his ticket in tightly clutched hand. He's not yet a participant on *corfid* but a Wecome Pickerman would be a great surprise for him. He's a player and very good troubador hisownself . . . Sure would like him to join in the festivities by being greeted by Outrageous Strangers [us] Blessings, Rez |

Hello Mandoann,
I am having the dream time of my life. Spending time with my two favorite men (Ken and Gordon). Yes, Borderstone you are my favorite too. Tonight we are in Daytona Beach Florida (me and Ken, not Gordon). Tomorrow is the race. We have family in Portland Ann so maybe someday we can meet there. Have to go now. :) DSR |
Re: GordQuest 2008
"Incredible Journey" {DSR,} stay safe, enjoy the race, & more Lightfoot concerts. :)
|
Re: GordQuest 2008
Thank you Jesse Joe,
I do feel like this is an "incredible journey". It was hard to be here at the beach knowing just a few hours away was a concert. Some of the ladies have asked how come my husband goes to all these concerts with me. This is why. The NASCAR car races are very important to him so I try to be fair. Okay, enough from me. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. :) DSR |
Re: GordQuest 2008
FormerlyLavender...will you and your brother be at Wolf Trap on June 14th? Haven't had a 'for sure' reply from BillW yet. DSR will you and Ken be there?
|
Re: GordQuest 2008
Hi Elizabeth, unfortunately I don't think jbt and I will be at Wolftrap in June. I was hoping the Wolftrap show would be the week prior or following the Keswick show, but since they're two nights in a row, it is hard with work and kids etc. It makes more sense for us to focus on the Keswick show because it's considerably closer. I love the Wolftrap venue and we had such a good time the last time, so it's quite disappointing. Thanks for inquiring, and have fun.
