Ticketmaster Internet sales for the Minneapolis show go on sale in July, but internet "presale" tix go available on May 16th. Now somebody out there can tell me what's required to get the password necessary to get the presale advantage. Any takers? You'll be a hero in my book of Gord!.. Whataya say..

Usually the presale is specified once you select the event e. g. American Express Gold Card Member presale or 'Such&Such Fan Club' presale. In these cases you would get the password from the sponsor such as AmEx or from your fan club site where you have to have a user-id to login and see the password. Sometimes it's sent to members via email but not usually. I tried to look at Ticketmaster this morning but the 'ticketing system is down for routine maint'... Even if you have to join something you've still got two weeks and it would be worth it to get choice seats. Good luck.

p.s. it could be one more thing which is a membership in the theatre itself such as 'Friends Of Massey Hall' which many of us here are, members that is.
Go back to the theatre site and look at: Become a Hennepin Theatre Trust Member Ticketmaster has the event listed on it's website. OK that's it then - go join the 'Trust' and then when the presale comes up they will ask for your member number: Internet Presale Info Public Presale: Start:Tue, 05/16/06 12:00 PM CDT End:Sat, 07/29/06 08:00 PM CDT HENNEPIN THEATRE TRUST GORDON LIGHTFOOT STATE THEATRE 805 HENNEPIN AVENUE, MPLS SUN SEP 17 2006 7:30PM [ May 03, 2006, 10:09: Message edited by: BILLW ] |

That is steep ! The problem is in most cases the 'password' is your member number and the tickets you can purchase are limited in number. And then they mail them to the official member address. But perhaps someone who is a member will not be using their full allowance. Good luck and let us know how it works out. Bill :) |

That was the case with the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee. You also needed to be a member to have access to the presale. The good thing: Membership was free, you just had to join the email list - was easy enough :) |

I also notice if you stick "presale passwords" into your Google, you'll get a plethora of sites advertising to sell to you for as low as about $4.95 etc.. To the extent this would be reliable, I have no idea.. Ah, the wonders of the free market..

I also would like to purchase pre-sale tickets at a different venue. The concert is at the Tulallip Indian Reservation in Marysville Washington on August 20th and the presale started about an hour ago. Can anyone help. Thanks skijohn@centurytel.net

Just ordered 2 tickets for Sept. 17 (Minneapolis). No password needed. Just normal Ticketmaster routine and usual highway robbery with fees.
Got 2 tickets on main floor, Row W. They must be holding closer seats for later which is unfair. Kept trying to get closer and nothing came up anywhere on the main floor. Since GL has not been in Minneapolis since May 2002, I would venture the tickets will go fairly quickly. He has always sold well here and there was a short blurb in the Sunday StarTribune a few weeks ago in the Entertainment section announcing the concert. With GL's concert itinerary that week, it doesn't appear there is any chance to add a night so get your tickets now. |

I probably would have started with "Harmony". That is because all the other passwords the Hennepin Theater Trust used lately, had something to do with the short description of the artist they gave on their website. With Gordon, they talked about his latest CD, so I just figured... Next one would have been "wreck", since the Milwaukee Pabst Theater used that and so on. But I tell you, I was prepared with a whole list, haha. Good thing I didn't need it, otherwise I most likely would still sit here and try...:) |

So you're probably right, they're holding back the best ones. Question is, for whom??? |

The tickets for Harris, MI (Sept. 15-16) have arrived. Now with the Sept. 17 tickets secured, I will have 3 straight nights of Gord.
Still thinking about going to Wausau (Sept. 19). I may have a business commitment so I am not proceeding with that one until that week settles down. Hope our GL friends in southern Wisconsin and Chicago provide set lists for the concerts down there after he leaves this area. We attended the 2 Gord concerts in Aurora, IL last August and what a fantastic concert hall. John/ Minnesota |
Sounds like you mid-west folks (plus one Blonde Brit) are getting it all planned out! Everyone take your pens and paper so the rest of us can have reviews/set lists to read (please?) :)
|
The blonde Brit is still at the dreaming stage, I fear.

re: I got 2 tickets in Main floor 2, row J and also hoped for better ones, since I really was right there at 12:00pm. So you're probably right, they're holding back the best ones.
Although I wish you had gotten better (as I would have then as well this morning arriving a day late in the game falsely assuming the pre-sale was unobtainable by little old me etc.) this cools me off a little bit because I was a bit aghast at finding only row Q or worse available to me!.. However this really ticks me off at the same time (they did this to me in Clearwater at that Ruth Eckard Hall too).. It aint right man; the tickets should go to the people who care and who've been out there doin it for 20, 30 years etc., and not to some hotshot who hasn't bought or even heard an album since Summertime Dream etc., to impress clients or whatever.. (note: the Orpheum Theatre right across the street here (and originally listed as the venue on the Internet Companion site for this show some months back) had the boys in last time they came through the Twin Cities and Duluth (May, 2002) and we pulled down 1st row seats for the Minneapolis show that go-round).. Oh well, ok I'll shut up now; I'm in the building in row Q.. what the hell.. it'll be a Sunday night and we'll all have dates.. dance all night to the 78's.. you know the deal.. etc.. |
