My most prized item is my SONGBOOK 4CD set & book. All the hits are there + some new classics. I like Gordon's commentary to the songs too. Priceless. I also value my original "Salute" LP. I guess the memories of seeing him in concert for the first time are very special too.

I would have to say meeting him last July in Orillia, taking to him, my pics oh him that day and the autograph on my 30 year old 45 of IYCRMM.
It turned him from "legend" into "legendary Man" for me that day.

My most valuable Gord items are the photos of him and I that were taken in North Tonawanda and San Diego California last year. He autographed the one from the Majestic Theater for me. What a treasure.
Meeting him was so wonderful, words cannot convey the joy that I felt while I talked to him.

I would have to say my most rare item of Gord would be, number 1 meeting him backstage at the Erie, Pa. concert, and shaking his hand, and talking with him, a dream come true. 2nd would be the songbook, which I listen to everyday.

How's this? I have my own nice vinyl copy of the album "Sit Down Young Stranger." Have the same thing on CD and fr some reason they have changed the name to "If You Could Read My Mind"......

I found this thread from 2&1/2 years ago. (Has it been that long since 2001? Yikes:eek http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Anyway,I'm surprised more people didn't answer this question. My most prized GL posessions,besides my LP collection,are my autographed concert ticket,autographed concert hall schedule (I kinda sneaked it off the wall),and of course...the lifetime memory of meeting Gordon & The Band after the show! Other than those,the only other thing that comes to mind is,the impact his music has had on me. It's been yours truly and I'll catch ya on the flipside of Sundown! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

I guess my most important GL items are the album & CD collections. The various song books I have managed to lay my paws on. The autograph I got backstage a few years ago. At that meeting I had 2 photos taken with Gordon and my spouse, sadly, not one picture on a roll of 24 came out. We were devastated. I still have the abiding memory of meeting Gordon. When I mentioned to him that I particularly liked the song "Someone To Believe In". He stopped me talking, thought for a few seconds, then gently sang the opening stanza, that was a great moment.
I am also particularly proud to have gotten hold of one of the 61 limited edition Lightfoot signature Martin D18 guitars.

I usually go by Char but I think when Florian made me a co-moderator he signed me in as Charlene. I've been "Char" since I was 15. A LONG time ago!

I was fortunate enough to have the band sign my 2 martins 6 and 12 string when he signed my 6 string in carlisle a few years ago we stood and talked for 1/2 hour they say you should never meet your heros you.ll be disappointed. Gord proved them wrong whenever I play I think about 1971 when i heard sit down young stranger and was hooked forever to one of the finest songwriters of our generation thanks for everything Gord

Second is a ticket from the April 14, 2002 Keswick PA concert which I did NOT attend because a good friend chose that night to get married (geesh). Nevertheless, Char, Silverheels and a few other wonderful Lightfoot buddies took my ticket to the concert and Gord autographed it with

"Sorry David, you missed the show. Gordon Lightfoot"

That ticket reminds me not only of Gord, but also of the wonderful people I have met who are also fans of his.

One other object deserves honorable mention. After the Coral Springs concert in 2001, Gord used my cellphone to speak to Silverheels in England, who hadn't seen him in nearly 20 years. Gord told SH that the weather in Florida was hot and moist, and SH responded that she was rather "hot and moist" herself! ROTFLMAO!

The picture of "THE CALL" is priceless, as is the cellphone, which I presented to Silverheels as a momento after the phone contract expired. But I think of that as Silverheels' momento rather than mine.

So many great memories!

I have a first edition copy of the childrens book "The Pony Man". I hope to get it autographed some day. Then my most prized possesion would be the memory of meeting Gord, which hopefully will follow a concert.
