I'm in heaven too. I've got my seats for Monday night. Third row, just left of center. I was able to get 6 tickets that close. It's fun having something to look forward too isn't it! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Great Gaby
but are they in row z or even outside the theatre (in the parking lot perchance)???!!

Regarding Gaby's "Chehire Cat" expression
Just in case anybody was wonderring what that meant or where it came from I googled for "Cheshire Cat derivation"
and found this
"To grin like a Cheshire Cat. An old simile popularized by Lewis Carroll: "please would you tell me," said Alice a little
timidly, "why vour cat grins like that?" "It's a Cheshire cat," said the Duchess, "and that's why." - Alice in Wonderland
(1865). The phrase has never been satisfactorily explained, but it has been said that Cheshire cheese was once sold moulded
like a cat that appeared to be grinning. The waggish explanation is that the cats know that Cheshire is a Country Palatine
and find the idea a source of perpetual amusement"
I also found this:
"but so far no one has ever explained why cats native to Cheshire should grin more than others. Cheshire is noted for its
cheese and dairy products, perhaps they had more cream in their diet than their relatives in other parts!"
Not really satisfied I also thought I would google for "Cheshire Cat" images/pictures
and found a great number of caricatures and one neatly showing such a grinning cat with young Alice
So here is one with Alice:-

Doh!
John –Everything was happening so fast!
I thought I’ d get my Hamilton tickets before talking to you about flights and hotels. (I shall probably stay at the Hamilton Ramada, like you and Susan.)

you were obviously asleep – Nope

all 4 e-mail addresses that I now have for you – Long story.
It’s a weeding out system. (And, as you have all my email addresses, you are, obviously, not being weeded out!)
It’s an old story that most women have used at some time.
University – Halls of Residence - 4 ‘phone lines – 4 boyfriends.
One boyfriend – One ‘phone number!!
Yeah?

Violet –I’m starting to feel sooooo guilty! (NOT!)
But, Brink has promised that you, me, Annie, Bru, Char and Jenney are all going on the prowl in May!! Let’s look forward to that!!!!

John - Where did you get that picture of me and the Cheshire cat? Spooky!!!!!

stationmaster 09-11-2004 02:10 PM

I don't think I will be going. The sad thing is that I am only 1.5 hours drive away from it...

BILLW 09-11-2004 02:14 PM

Looks like tickets are selling very well. Since I will have to make this trek solo I got 1 ticket, #26 in row CC, which from the seating chart looks like the third row. Is that correct Minstrel Man ? What numbers are your six seats ? It looks like we'll have a good showing from corfid land, we'll have to get a group picture in front of the hall and have John Fowles post it here.

Question for you Gord,
Char tells me Hamilton is pretty far from the Toronto airport and suggested I rent a car. Since you're in the business I figured you's know what cabfare would be. Any idea ?
Thanks.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Bill http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

We'll miss those of you that can't swing it but maybe we'll see y'all at the next one.

OOPS forgot to name the day - it's Monday the 29th. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

If anyone is interested in saving on accommodations, I can highly recommend the B&B that Cathy and I (and my son) stayed at. It is outside of Hamilton, but an easy drive (hey, Cathy and I didn't get lost so it must be easy). Of course, there is something to be said for staying at the same hotel with everyone else, but this is an affordable alternative. The B&B has 3 available rooms, one with a queen, one with two twins and one with one twin (as I recall). The owner uses an apartment downstairs when she has guests; otherwise she uses the master (with the queen). She makes wonderful breakfasts which are included and she is a very lovely person and a pleasure to visit with.

If anyone is interested, I'll look up the contact information. I don't even remember the name of it at the moment. I think the rooms were $55 (single), $65 (double) and $75 (queen).

Stationmaster,
could you find a cartoon figure to depict my misery as I read all these excited posts?
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWl! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/frown.gif

djb 09-11-2004 03:19 PM

We can be miserable together, Silverheels. I doubt Mia and I can make it either. It's the other side of the world, and there's just too much horsebleep going on right now. Or as a friend of mine often says, "life got in the way!"

David,
we'll meet here on Nov 28/29 and commiserate together. Sometimes Life sucks. *sigh*
(but May isnt that far away. You WILL be able to come to Massey, right?)

Minstrel Man 09-11-2004 03:56 PM

Yes BillW that is correct. My gang will also be in row cc and that is the third row. The first 8 rows of the theatre are aa-hh, then the rows after are designated by single letters. You're in seat #26 which is to the right of the center aisle. I'm in seats 9-19 which is to the left of centre aisle. Seats on the right are even numbers (2,4,6,etc). Seats to the left are odd numbers (1,3,5,etc.). Congratulations on great seats. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

djb 09-11-2004 04:01 PM

Not sure about May, either. We are dealing with health problems and job problems at the moment -- hence the sometimes life sucks bit -- so it's a matter of wait and see. We'll have a better idea after Xmas.
