My tally is 24 for 28 (86%)

Missing are the two Nevada gigs and 2 of the 3
Fallsview Casino performances.

Disputers are welcome to do their own research.

?? please elucidate Ron for the benefit of me and anyone else memory challenged
I am blowed if I can now recall what your earlier topic was about other than its subject title
"How are we doing? "
and strangely Ron that posting your first visit to such a topic was according to the search engine hereabouts
topic http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...=004542#000000
which was allegedly dated 27 april 2007
but going there now brings up a quixotic
FYI
You have requested a topic that does not exist!
so I must assume that you have already deleted it in which case
what pray are you tallying???
John
P.S.I am not disputing anything Ron and assure you thatI have done my own research but even google's usually comprehensive caching facility failed me

BILLW 06-25-2007 09:22 AM

I think we're keeping track of how many shows are attended by posters her at corfid.com, which is a worthy goal.

Bill :)

Thanks for the clarification Bill, from Ron's wording "my tally" I had incorrectly deduced that he was tallying his own personal attendance record and that just did not sound right. But as I said since the original topic has been deleted it was not possible to recap on his intentions.Whilst replying I would like to point out to those not regularly checking the Newsgroup, that the melifluously voiced Melissa Joe of Austin started a nice thread on there about the Austin concert at:-
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.m...ab6836f3419aae
subject
"Gord was Awesome in Austin!"
and the fifth reply to it is by a very keen fan and one time prolific mesage poster who has been largely conspicuous by his absence there for a long time Sean Gaynor, noteworthy in his reply was
" I met DreamStreetRose from the corfid forum and Norinne who
were very nice to my wife and I."
Well done "The Dame"
Did you suggest that Sean should try posting on corfid??
Sean back in the heady days of 1999 was a regular in the chat room
Plus there is a reply by CHar today asking for pictures of the

Mr. Fowles,

I apologize for the confusion. BillW is correct. The idea originated from a posting by Dream Street Rose that stated something like "It would be nice if a member of this group could attend every concert this year". This was before the tour began.

I did as much research as I could, and came up with my original count. I was corrected, and the first half results ended with 26 performances/22 attended by at least one member of this forum. I had it written down.

I was in the process of devising a way to list each concert along with the screen name of the member who attended. I deleted when I should have retreated, and there went that thread.

I hope that clears it up.

Thru Texas....

29 performances...25 attended....

Dream Street Rose 06-28-2007 01:52 AM

Thank you Ron. I am enjoying seeing the numbers. I will be going to some of the Colorado concerts. I will let you know which ones I attend.

RM 06-30-2007 05:59 PM

Well......it appears the team has been in a slump.

Newest missing are Tulsa, OK
Wichita, KS
Kansas City, MO
Omaha, NE
It appears RJ will start to turn it around in Cedar Rapids tonight. Assuming that is the case, the count will stand at 34 performances, 26 attended by a poster to the corfid site.

John Fowles mentioned a review of the Kansas City concert on the newsgroup (it is indeed a good one). I'm still not sure why some who post there are so adamant about ignoring this site. From what I've read of the postings on the newsgroup, the content is not superior. It seems that some newsgroupers are a bit of an elitist. USENET FOREVER seems to be their motto.

Anne made it to Kansas City.

Yea, Anne. Thank you, I think this is fun.

Thanks brink-. Inside info is most welcome. I just assume the performances are missed if no concert experiences are passed along.

The new count is 34 concerts/27 attended.

Yes Ron you pretty well hit the nail on the head there.
To be fair it could also be said that corfidians who do not bother to read and/or post on theNewsgroup are similarly elitist , but then those who prefer corfid are well aware that it is at the moment and for some time the vastly more vibrant, active and entertaining place to keep track of, and therefore have every right to feel smug and elitist in turn. Nevertheless if you do read nothing else on the Newsgroup today I insist that everybody should make the effort to read Tim Quinn's three part posting to his threads entitled:-
"An unforgettable night at Uptown Theater" (Kansas City) I and II and his latest (part III) posted early today is simply wonderful
It is at:-
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.m...2a79cf4?hl=en&
There now that I have "spoon fed" everbody nobody has any excuse for not reading it!!

Good points Sir John, and I have read your posts on the Newsgroup in the past that advocated a visit to the Corfid site. You've certainly tried.
I was somewhat dismayed by responses to your posts that basically stated "Shut the **** up !!!".

Oh well.....

MaryAnn (Mtnsandmah) attended the Wichita KS show.

I don't know why you people keep harping on the newsgroup vs. Corfid issue. Most of the people who still post there have done so for years and if they don't feel like learning about a new place to post, there is really no reason to make an issue of it. Personally, I preferred the newsgroup because it is quick to check for new material and easy to go through. Here people post pictures and get off topic, and it takes a lot more time. I don't read many threads because they take too long to go through and I don't have the time.

Believe it or not, some people just don't have the time or interest to learn about Corfid, but they are still Lightfoot fans and it is unfair to berate them for it. Tim's the nicest guy you'll ever find and if he sticks to the newsgroup so be it. I would hope that people here could stop making an issue of this.

Okay....I'll take your word for it. I looked up Mtnsandmah in the directory and found no listing. (are you sure that wasn't a bot promoting cheap viagra ?).

34 performances.....28 attended.

That's the point. Usually there is no new material, and why not share your Lightfoot experience with a wider audience ?

Berate ? That remark is uncalled for. Tim's posts are absolutely great. But I contend that in the time it took him to compose his masterpiece, he could have learned how to post it here on Corfid.
I really don't care, but that doesn't mean I understand why he chooses not to.

I see that CHar had responded whilst I was researching as follows:-

I will hazard a guess that CHar is referring to Mary Ann H....h usually known as mah from Atlanta,GA and if I remember correctly a founder member of the small membership (14) group known as the Lightfoot Loonies who have their own Yahoo group

soi Mah is is actually Mary Ann (Member # 141) who does not seem to have posted here for almost 3 years
and not the original Marian from the Mountains
