Hey guys, sorry I was not interractive today other than Sunday morning wee hours. MY growing colorful database/program for std responses with all the std acoutrements is down & out - its mirror program left it...lol...so I will do old fashioned hand-typed responses the way this all started out..dang those WERE good days....but it still had heart, and a loyal following. I'll give it that, and its not like its dead.... its {"in the shop") from a logical error that blew its little brain - which is a foisting way of saying its my fault - i did not anticipate a set of conditions that included two erroneous responses back-to-back, but with em containing the words given , just not in the same place.... well my &if &then &do &gotup &went. A program to speed things up (which it did for along time - in my response time) ain't any good if it slows me down - this wekend. So here os der old afshin avay. In a nutshell, I will bomb thru the relatively few outstanding ones- ones outstanding - you know what i mean. :biggrin: OK:Joveski we established q150 did not work with "Is There anyone home"- sorry; a shame too cause that is one of my top 6 favourite songs. That was one of the program runs that crashed - it found the two words required in different places... and blew a Norton Thiokol O-ring during cold lift-off. RM., just to re-assure you how right you were, it seems Lightfoot songs can be have the lyrics broken up in two different and/or same verses with regularity, so that the "iambic pentameter" (I think the English teacher calls it, when referring to the musical rhyming nature of both one-line-to the next, and Lightfoot's acknowledged specialty ( one of several) - that being, it has been said, his uncanny ability to have a musically-flowing rhyme within a verse, as somewhat the case in SDYS, which your "mind's ear" told me you were admirably working off of the top of your head, and not lookin-up the while shootin match in the lyrics board, as follows:

I hated to 'cheat' but lordy I was going nuts. I tried to keep the ones I found separate from the others that had been mentioned.. it's quite astounding how many times Gord uses HANDS in his lyrics..

I thought it might be CRT but the clue given didn't fit.. the subsequent teaser clues took me to CRT but 'their hands' wasn't the clue we started with so off I went to suss it out.... and figured it was possibly a typo anyway..(regardless of any medical issues)
I found it an interesting bit of trivia to note how often Lightfoot uses HANDS in his songs..I enjoyed the break from the work I'm doing here at home. I'd say James is DA WINNER!! :clap: |

Naw, I've poked around wherever about 15 - 20 minuts perusal would take me, and then back to our lyrics thread as long as I could stay conscious. I'm better today.. The thread: Its ours, you guys have worked so hard in here and been patient with me, hats off to ya :) & because it is so much fun to watch you guys amazingly think though 1 -2 word clues...and get 'em !. If anyone has amore equitable view of the way to declare relative winner of this one; I'm listening. One good take is its a 13th floor option, was, as several of you said. Personally, I admire the intuition jj showed by knowing what song I was thinkng by virtue of my clues. OK its gettin worse so I'm postong the next 6 right now..talk to u all later ! Wait a minute guys - I been playin in here for quite awhile with you, and I've never had trouble telling when you are submitting a ...a...submission..lol.. until now... What is it ? The welcome addition of new players, are the questions that much harder, - I can tell you guys you've done a LOT harder ONE WORD Q's than these, but I know they are tough - I had to think of 'em in my head remember ? You'll get em. I can say this..once pilgrim.... (since we are in the Western Saloon and all - OK - we have to decide on Lighthead Bar , or the other I proposed in usage as the "Sundown Saloon" - which builds on some of the Western settings Ron and I have used for humour here and there. Either way OK..... lemme know....cause I gotta start building some ambience in the program and all.... cutting edge Hollerdeck or something lke that...) back to my request.
Lets tighten up what has just for the first time in 350 !!! posts WOW !! become unclear as to whether you were posting or not. Tell ya what. I think the banter and "thinking out loud" is great - makes it more like chat days I miss... - I 'd be doing it too... that doesn't chap my hide at all.... I just can't answer partial submissions, or: seems kinda like (....( ) , or maybe with ( ) or without ( ).. Thats totally cool and necessary with hard ones to discuss, just help me know when they are submissions, not chat...I'm cool with that. I'd always hoped for general conversation in here, as long as the eye was on the ball of the game. I'm just getting a little worried, no biggee, that I can't tell when you are submitting today or not - with the exception of Ron. Who is remembering the submission form for just such reason - two times today. The others - sharp thinking going on, no problem , hell I enjoy listening to it . But when does it become a submission ?? Only because this is new behaviour, thats all. I don't want to let you guys down is the BIG DEAL to me. All we gotta do - just talk away and I won;t bat an eye, after all, we are in the "Swingin on one hook saloon" we have to pick the name for.... and then act appropriately atmospheric.... but when you want a submission answered yay or nay.... just put it in the form you see el Ron has used today.... elRon....hmm....?....naw......
